In the Norberg household records for 1915-1941, SE/ULA/11099/A II a/13, Page 1343 (https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/00182219_00133). there are a lot of comments on this record pertaining to the Engstrom family.  I have tried to sort this out as best I can.  It seems that on line 2 Johan Alfred Engstrom visited America in 1917 but returned to Sweden.  Later he must leave his family for Canada as some family trees have him dying there.  On line 4 his son Johan Emanuel is acknowledging a daughter with Anna Birgitta Magnusson.  Her name is Rut Anna-Stina.  Line 5 has another son Klas Gunnar leaving for Canada in 1919 and a daughter Rut Elisabet leaving for Canada in 1921.  Further down Rut returns from Canada in 1922 but leaves again in 1925.  I don’t know if there is anything else pertaining to her on the notes to the right.  Then on line 7 Gully Linnea marries Erik Johan Gylfe.   Unsure of what else it says.  There is some notation next to Gully’s name “icke dopt”?

Then on line 11 it looks like Rut Elisabet has a child Maria Elisabet???  It says Rut Elisabet ??  There are notations to the right, but I have no idea what they say.

Line 16 also has some notes to the right regarding Johan Emanuel.  Again I don’t know what this says.

Thanks for any help in translating these notations.

On line 2 it says "Vistas i Amerika 1917" which means that he is staying or residing (not visited) in America in 1917.

On line 4 it says "Joh. Eman. Engström har inför pastor ertiänt sig vara fader till Anna Birgitta Magnussons u. ä. födda barn Rut Anna-Stina, fol. 1786.", which means that he has admitted to the pastor that he is Rut Anna-Stina's father, the child born out of wedlock to Anna Birgitta Magnusson.

"Icke döpt" means not baptised.

On line 11 it says "Rut Elisabet Engströms u. ä. d. Maria Elisabet icke döpt", which means Rut Elisabet Engström's daughter born out of wedlock, not baptised.

On line 16 it says "I äktenskap förenad med Anna Birgitta Engström, f. Magnusson." which means that he is married to Anna Birgitta Engström, née Magnusson
and "... är äktenskapet upplöst gen. domstols utslag 30/6 1930" means that the marriage was dissolved by court ruling on June 30, 1930.

Anders,

Thank you so much for your help.  I left the country on April 21 soon after I posted my question.  I was gone until June 6 and am just now getting back to working on my tree.  This is why it took me so long to reply.

Thanks again,

Carol
