I am trying to verify that the Carl Jansson who married Maja Lena Andersdotter on 31 Dec 1824 in Askersund landsforsaming is the one I am looking for; however, I have searched for this location and cannot find it anywhere.  I found Maja Lena who was living in Vattersvik at the time.  It looks like they move somewhere in 1825 but I can't make that out either.

Hi!

Can you please give me some more information about the persons, where and when they were born, or a new link to the site because I can't reach it now.

Regards

Klas

I am attaching the wedding record.  The Carl Jansson I am researching was born 21 Jan 1794 at Skomakaretorp, Tived, Orebro.  Maja Lena was born 1898.  It's difficult to make out the day but it looks like the month is June.  I believe she was born in Vattersvik; however, for some reason I can't bring up the Riksarkivet record.  Don't know if there is a problem or not.  This might not be the right Carl, but the wedding record is the only one that looks promising.  Thanks, Carol

Klas,

I have found that this is not the same Carl Jansson as his birth date does not match.  Thanks, anyway.  Carol

Ok I see. If you give me some more info I can take a look and see if I can find him. When do you first see him in the records and where?

Regards

Klas

Thanks so much.  I am trying to fill out the family of my 3d great-grandaunt Stina Karlsdotter, born 1757 in Undenas, and her husband Jan Jansson, born 1754, also in Undenas.  I have found 7 children, 4 of whom died as infants.  I also found a daughter, Greta, and have found her husband and children.  Unfortunately she died at 22. So the only ones I cannot find are Maria, born 25 Jul 1786, in Skomakaretorp, Tived, Orebro.; and Carl, born 21 Jan 1794 also at Skomakaretorp.  I'll attach Carl's birth record.

There is a link there, but it's tiny.  I don't know why the size changes when I copy and paste.  Carol

Kalle,

Thanks so much.  I believe that this is the right Carl; however, I am tracing him back to make sure.  I looked at the previous records for 1805-1815, and it also shows his death.  Apparently, he moved in from B???  Can you tell where this is?  I am attaching the reference.  Thanks again, Carol

The next place is Weltorp, where Jan is not a farmhand but a "gosse", boy, or in this case a foster child. It seems his father couldn't take care of all the children himself after his wife died.

Yes, I see him in Valltorp.  It's interesting that there are two Carl Jansson's listed, but they came from different places.  His mother died in 1801, and his father died in 1807 so he was left without a family except for a sister who died in 1811.  I cannot find the other sister, Maria.  It's sad that this entire family died at early ages.  Thanks for your help, Kalle.
