Can anyone tell me what the attached record is and what it is used for?

Please see the attached record from Ängelholm, Kristianstads län  - the entry in question is for my ancestor dräng Per Bengtson b. 1803-11-30 (circled in black).  It looks like it is showing that he moved from one place to another but I'm really not sure what it is.

This is a kind of record you find in some cities comparable to household examinations. It says that he moved in from Ljungby 1829 and moved out to Annerstad 1830-10-25 and that his move out record number is 10. The note says that he arrived without the correct attest for this Parish but that he had an attest from Annerstad written 1820, or in other words, his whereabouts from 1820 to 1829 was not known. Have you found any records for him during that period?

Hi Leif,

Thank you so much for this information!  I don't have any information on him between 1820-1829.  With this new information I went back to his father's household record for the 1818-1824 timeframe and found a note for Per, which I previously didn't understand.  A copy is attached. It looks like it is dated 1820, but I don't understand the note. Where do I look for the item it refers to?

Annerstad (G) AI:7 (1818-1824) Image 143 / Page 273 (AID: v18254.b143.s273, NAD: SE/VALA/00015)

I should be looking for him in Ljungby parish then - this is interesting because my great aunt had said they were from Ljungby community - is that the same as thing as Ljungby parish?

Also, you wrote:

It says that he moved in from Ljungby 1829 and moved out to Annerstad 1830-10-25 and that his move out record number is 10.

Can you tell me where I can locate this record?  I have tried to find the migration records (both in and out) with no success.

Your further help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks again,

Vicki

Well, it turns out that the move out record for Ängelholm is missing, lost, they should be found in Munka-Ljungby (L) B:1 (1821-1839) Bild 67 / sid 44 (AID: v101574.b67.s44, NAD: SE/LLA/13271) as there are records for 1829 on the previous page but 1832 is found on next page. Nor do I find him in Move-In records for Annerstad. However, i think I found where he were from 1820-29. He moved in 1820 in Munka-Ljungby (L) AI:1 (1819-1832) Bild 164 / sid 4 (AID: v101545.b164.s4, NAD: SE/LLA/13271) and he is registered as moving out to Ängelholm 1829 on page 27 of the same volume (he is also found on other pages in the same volume). In 1830 you find him in Annerstad (G) AI:8 (1823-1830) Bild 19 / sid 10 (AID: v18255.b19.s10, NAD: SE/VALA/00015), moving in from Ängelholm.

It's not just comparable to a household record. It is a household record (husförhörslängd).

Hi Leif,

Thank you very much for doing all of this!  How did you ever find him there?

I had been taking a look at some of my early research, checking records that I didn't know existed at that time.  Moving in/out records have been very elusive for me, so I'm never sure if I'm even looking in the right place.  As it happens, I was looking at Ljungby parish in Kronoberg, so never would have found this!

My questions:

 Munka-Ljungby (L) AI:1 (1819-1832) Bild 164 / sid 4 (AID: v101545.b164.s4, NAD: SE/LLA/13271) - what I think it says is:
* dräng Per Bengtsson, birth/place: 1803-11-30 Småland in Marsiö, from: Annerstad year 1820 to: Nil Sven Perss at Allenbergh??? year 1826  Will you confirm/correct?  Was he likely moving there to work on a farm there?

I don't find yet where he moved from Munka-Ljungby to Ängelholm in 1829 - did he move from one spot to another in the same parish of Kristianstad?

Annerstad (G) AI:8 (1823-1830) Bild 19 / sid 10 (AID: v18255.b19.s10, NAD: SE/VALA/00015)
    * he is moving back to Marsiö in Annerstad in 1830 from Ängelholm municipality (I understand this to be in Kristianstad county, is that a different location than Munka-Ljungby parish?

I'm struggling with the locations here and how to note them - so far I've used domicile, parish, county (ie. Marsiö, Annerstad, Kronoberg)  How should I note these locations?

I still need to locate the other records for him in this volume, but I will find them!

If you can help with the confusion on locations it would be very much appreciated. This my first venture into Kristianstad and it is a bit confusing.   :)

Thank you again,

Vicki

Quick question I meant to ask with the last post - it seems as though most who moved from one place to another had the proper paperwork necessary to move in to a new location - was it unusual or not to be missing the necessary documents?

Thanks!

Vicki

Hi again Leif,

Update - I've figured out the parish/county notation concern (and now have it documented) and was also able to find more of the census records that you mentioned!

This was a nice addition to the information I had for this ancestor so, thank you very much for all of your help!!

It is much appreciated!

Vicki

There are several helpful functions in ArkivDigital. I found him in Munka-Ljungby using Index Search with the search string "Per Bengtsson 1803-11-30". Also in "Archive info" for Munka-Ljungby you see that this was the mother parish with Ängelholm as an annex (until Ängelholm became a city and grow larger than Munka-Ljungby). And I am sorry that I didn't noted that the volume Munka-Ljungby AI:3 had several parts, such that page 27 is found at several images, the one where he moves to Ängelholm 1829 is in image 305 (if you use ArkivDigital!). I hope that this answered all your questions, or you have to come back.

Hi again Leif,

Yes, that answers my questions - I am getting better at using the Index Search in ArkivDigital, which is what is helping me find more information than I had previously.  More information is available now also.  But, I am not always sure of what I've found!

Thanks again for all your help - this was a very interesting discovery!

Vicki
