Greetings,

I am seeking help with the death record for Anders Bryngelsson born 1726. It is very difficult for me to translate as the handwriting is poor and my Swedish is limited.
Bokenäs kyrkoarkiv, Husförhörslängder, SE/GLA/13041/A I/1 (1766-1781), Image ID: C0039922_00056, page 17 shows him as having died (image attached).
I think that the record is located at
Bokenäs kyrkoarkiv, Födelse- och dopböcker, SE/GLA/13041/C/1 (1686-1768), Image ID: C0039943_00309, page 628 (image attached where he appears to have died at the same time as two others).

Two questions, first, is this the right person?
Second, if so, what does the record say (other than he died in March of 1766).

Any and all help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Hi.

The second picture with information from the death record does not continue any information about the person you seek. It must have been a mistake (or I have lost more of my sight than I am aware of :-)

There is an Anders Persson but he is just 4 days when he pass away. If you know the correct link or picture please try again.

Regards

Klas

How come you thought that he would be in that record? I also looked at 1768 but could not see any ANders Bryngelsson there in Bokenäs. Strange if he is noted as dead in the Household examination. Aha Kalle found him. I missed him as noted died in August 1768, so I have lost some sight then:-)

He died of tvinsot that is he withered away.

He died from twinsot, but it's specified as problems with the spleen. Not very common to see in old deaths records. Also, he was a "nämndeman", a member of the municipal council.

Thanks Kalle,

This must be the correct record. Anders was born in 1726 and if he died in 1768 he would have been 42 years old (I see the number 42 in the the record and assume it his age at time of death). Does it list anything other than the fact that he had died at the age of 42?

Klas, I saw that Anders was listed as dead on the Household exam starting in 1766 and didn't see that he had any checks by his name for the exam. I assumed that he had probably died that same year. I spotted an Anders ***** in the death records for 1766 and could not read the last name. Thats why I asked if it was the correct person. I too missed him listed in 1768. Again, thanks for your help.

Bradley: Ok I see, well Kalle found him for you so all went well:-)

Kalle: Isn't a Lay Judge or Permanent Jury man a better way to describe a Nämndeman?

The nämndeman was a trusted member of the Parish who assisted the Judge during the Häradsrätt (the lowest court level in Sweden) court sessions. Before 1680, If there was no real Judge (from the upper classes) the oldest Nämndeman would be the head Judge. That was not practiced during the 18th Century and I am not sure the Nämndeman had the same power during court then but still he was a very respected man.

Thanks for the expanded information and definition. I greatly enjoy learning more about my ancestors, who they were and how they lived.
