I am trying to track Elin Cajsa Johannesdotter, born 8 May 1843, in Aker.  The last record I have is from Tofteryd
https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0023358_00186
[/color]I cannot read the destination in the far right lower corner.  I believe the year was 1864.

Per,

Thank you so much for your help.  I really appreciate it.  Elin is the daughter of Johannes Danielson, my 2nd great-grandfather.  There were 2 sons (one was my great-grandfather) and six daughters.  I have had a difficult time in tracking four of the daughters. I had looked through moving in/out records but hit a dead end for all four.  So this fills in one of the daughters for me.  Where did you look for your information?  I only have ancestry.com and riksarkivet.  Thanks again.  Carol

You can use the Swedish Census (Folkräkningar) via https://sok.riksarkivet.se/folkrakningar.

Most of the persons living in Stockholm between 1876 - 1925 are listed in the "Rotemansarkivet", which you can reach via https://sok.stadsarkivet.stockholm.se.

The Swedish Death Index 1860 - 2017 are a database you have to pay for:
"Swedish Death Index 1860-2017 (version 7.21)

Welcome to the Swedish Death Book 1860-2017 (version 7.2), with data on deceased in Sweden from 1860 to 2017. The database was originally based solely on data from official sources from 1950 onwards. In a large project, Namn åt de döda (Name the dead!), started in 2002 by The Federation of Swedish Genealogical Societies, missing names were added and, as a spinoff, records earlier than 1950 were transcribed from mainly church records. In the process, a number of standardizing tables were constructed, enabling efficient searches for place of birth and death, as well as aiding in searches for marital status, pre-marital names etc.

In total, about 13 million records  should cover at least 99% of the deceased in Sweden in the time period., with information about parish of birth available for about 97%."

Per,

Thank you for all your help.  Yes, I have used the census records.  I could not find Elin or her 3 sisters.  Most of my ancestors are not from Stockholm but from Skane, Vastra Gotaland, Jonkoping, Vasternorrland.  My mother was born in Ljustorp and my father's father was born in Hova.  So I have many Swedish ancestors.  I can usually follow the household records until someone moves to Stockholm.  Then it is difficult to track them if you don't know the parish.  For example, Elin's sister Marta Lena Johannesdotter (born 13 Dec 1840) apparently moved to Stockholm on 28 Aug 1870.  I cannot find her after that.  The last reference is from a household record for her father Johannes Danelsson. https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0023630_00339.  I would appreciate your help in finding her.  Thank you so much.  Carol

Per,

Thanks, again.  So that date must be the date of death, not the date that she moved to Stockholm.

I haven't gotten your email, but my server is sometimes slow.  You might get a message that it is caught in my spamblocker.  Or you can send it to uscbama@gmail.com.

Per,

When I go to riksarkivet, I do not find the above reference:  Hedvig Eleonora, Hedvig Eleonora (A, AB) AIa:61 (1864-1865) Bild 179, the years 1864-65. I only see the latest dates as 1850-1861.  Also, did she die in that parish as I could not find the death record for her in that parish.  Thanks, Carol

Riksarkivet, and originally the mormons, probably didn't think it worth the effort to photograph the later books -- they are very thin on information ... Usually research in Stockholm the 10-15-20 years before Rotemännen took over, and even earlier, is done by following the person in the other books. AD has photographed the household records: picture included.

Märta Lenas death (which was Aug 28, the indexer has misread ...) record: Åkers kyrkoarkiv, Födelse- och dopböcker, SE/VALA/00461/C/7 (1861-1881), bildid: A0010887_00093, sida 177.
