I am seeking help reading the birth record for Brita Jonsdotter Anundsjö kyrkoarkiv, Födelse- och dopböcker, SE/HLA/1010004/C/3 (1754-1795), Image ID: C0032608_00083, page 138 attached. I can make out her parents names as Jön Svensson and Karin Olofsdotter. Is the place of residence Tvärlandsböle? I am not able to find them living there in the Husförhöslängder covering those years so I am wondering if I have the name wrong. Also, is her date of birth the 9th of June? The image is blurry and my Swedish is poor. Thanks for any help.

I read the place as 'Järfberget', Järvberget with modern spelling. I guess it is a croft under a village/farm. Since I don't know the area I can't help you further with the issue.

Yes, the date of birth is the 9th.

The place is Järfbärget. You don't find that in the index to AI:3, but Britta is probably found in Anundsjö (AC, Y) AI:4 (1781-1806) Bild 151 / sid 148 (AID: v120864.b151.s148, NAD: SE/HLA/1010004), living with her brother(?) Olof Jonsson born 1764 and married to Grundtjärn, page 138 in the same volume.

Thanks Leif. Yes, that is her living with her brother Olof Jonsson (1764), and again living with her husband a few pages earlier in the same volume.
With the key bit of information you provided I was able to track down her father's birth record. He died in 1737 at the age of 33 (I don't know yet what became of her mother). His death record is found at Anundsjö kyrkoarkiv, Födelse- och dopböcker, SE/HLA/1010004/C/3 (1754-1795), Image ID: C0032608_00161, page 288 (attached). I can make out very little,
(?) Jön Svensson
(?) born 1737, 1 May
Father Sven Jonsson from Ödsby
Mother Brita Jonsdotter
(married?) 1761 (?)
(?)
(?)
(?)
(?)
(?)
(?)
(?) Died 12 Sept
(?)
age 33 (?)
(?)
I’d greatly appreciate any help translating the rest.

Part of it:
Nybyggaren (Settler) Jon Svensson uti
Jerfberget. Föd 1737 den 1 Maii.
Fadren Sven Svensson i Ödsby
Modren Brita Svens(?)dotter
1761 became Settler and
married to
Karin Olofsdotter. Conceived
with her 4 children, 2
sons and 2 daughters.
Lived as a good Christian.

One place where you find that family is Anundsjö (AC, Y) AI:2 (1743-1760) Bild 99 / sid 90 (AID: v120862.b99.s90, NAD: SE/HLA/1010004), where Jon is spelled Jonas.

Thanks for the help Leif.

I'm often struck more by what is not said in a death record than by what is. Here we have a man (my great grandfather) who died at the age of 33 and and my first question is "what happened to him"? Yet his death record is silent on the cause of death but tells us he "Lived as a good Christian". That was more important to them than the reasons why he was called home so early in his life. The worldview they held is so different then the one which prevails today.

And thanks for the information on finding the family in the Anundsjö exam for the years 1743-1760. Unfortunately Riksarkivet numbers them differently so it will take me some time to track them down.
