These areas of Sweden are so unfamiliar to me. In the following Hfl they moved - I do not exactly where.

The family moved 15 november 1879 to Stockholm (the capital of Sweden) and there to the district Kungsholms parish. The family lived on the road Lilla Västra Kvarngränd 10. Johan Peter worked as a engineer and died there 17 november 1885. His wife then lived as a widow until she died 5 october 1922 in Maria Magdalena parish (also in Stockholm).

All the children can probably be followed, but which of them are you particularly interested in?

Johan Peter is found in Kungsholms book of in-moving BI:17, page 17. And for the death data I used the Swedens death index 1860-2017.

 I am most interested to know more about Carolina Elisabet born 1871 17/4 in Sundsvall.
Also Alma Sofia born 1873 16/5 in Sundsvall


Then there is Hulda Elenora, no ditto marks to indicate she is a dotter born 1876 11/7 but where?

Carolina Elisabet marries Frans Johan Österberg born 1863 20/3 Kungsholm parish, Stockholm.
They have the children:
Ernst Wilhelm born 1889 27/1, born before the marriage (Kungsholm CI:16 page 80)
Maria Carolina born 1891 9/5, (Kungsholm AI:17 page 135)
Carolina Elisabet dies 1894 18/4 of pulmonary cirrhosis, still living in Kungshom parish

It is so good that you give page numbers of where info is found. That almost gives me confidence to try searching in the great city Stockholm.


I now decide to ask for help of the son. Hope you don't mind. Alfred born out of wedlock to Bethy Georgina Amilon. Johan Peter Andersson admitted that he was the father. So as an adult I do not know if his last name would me Amilon or Andersson. He was only age 14 so went with parents to Stockholm. P. 276 from my very first post.

According to Arkiv Digital's Befolkningen i Sverige 1840-1947 (the population of Sweden 1840-1947) Alfred, namned Andersson, emigrated September 29, 1891 from Kungsholmen to America.

He worked as an iron worker and a guess may be that it was a hard work for a little money and wanted to try his luck like many other Swedes at the time. But those are just guesses.

He did hard work in America also. I found him in 1900 Census and he was a Machinist {Drill}
Not exactly sure what that means. He died in 1906 so he was young. Some of his family in Sweden died young also. He married and three children.

You gave Emigration info for Alfred Andersson. Years ago I was sent Emigration info for different people from Emhamn which gave intended destination in America. Is it possible to find that for Alfred?

Hello again Georgina, in case you weren't aware, when you go to the Rotemansarkivet website click on the British flag icon in the upper right of the page since this will change the language to English.  If you enter Alfred's birth date and just his first name, you should see five records for him in Stockholm.  The earliest is 1879-1883 where he was living with his family and the latest was 1886-1891 because he emigrated 29 Sep 1891.  In the Göteborgs Poliskammare archive on Arkiv Digital (EIX:46 (1891) image 1940 page 38) there is an "A Andersson" 26 years old from Stockholm who left 2 Oct 1891 (boat is not listed on the manifest) with destination Boston.  On the familysearch website a 26 year old named "A Andersson" arrived in Boston 19 Oct 1891 on the SS Cephalonia, he was traveling to Rhode Island.  The following records are also from Family Search, after coming to the US Alfred changed his name to "Amylon" which I'm sure you know was his mother's name.
