Attached is an 1818 estate inventory for Jacob Svensson of Malmaryd.

Basically I know it says they took an estate inventory after the death of Jacob Svensson on 27th April (1818) for the benefit of his heirs.

A few questions:
* Does the word danneman simply mean husband?
* How many children are mentioned?
* It looks like he specifically only refers to 2 of his sons - Håkan from his first marriage and Sven from his second marriage.
* Is that the end of the commentary (does it end at the squiggly lines)?

Thanks so much for any help with this,

Here's the any help on this!

* No, https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/Swedish_Genealogical_Word_List
* Tjo = tio, ten children. But they were seven here...
* the property was declared by the two sons from the different marriages - Egendomen uppgavs av Håkan Jacobsson med första giftet, och Swen Jacobsson med senare  Så att den (egendomen) med ed vill besanna om så påfodras skulle.

Thanks very much!  So Danneman is a farmer or gentleman - they are very different words, so would it be farmer (probably) rather than gentleman?

I know I used that word list at some point but have been using an actual dictionary which I bought (but that hasn't proved to be much more helpful - mostly because you can't find a word if you don't spell it correctly!)  So, I'm always thankful for "any help!"   :)

Jacob had 3 children with his first wife and 7 with his second wife so maybe I should maybe have guessed that.  Again, I was trying to look up tjo, which was not the correct spelling.

What does it mean to "declare" the property?  Declaring it for the purpose of the inventory?  To make it "fair" when inventorying for the children of both marriages?

Thanks again,

Vicki Cihla

Danneman is an honouring-title of a farmer. A respected man.

Declared was my translation... Another alternative "translation" could be that they showed or told about the property owned by the deceased.
