Hello, I am having difficulty finding where Anna Bengtsdotter's (b.1783) children go. It says something in the margin, but I don't understand all of it.. I found Bengt on p. 77 in 1835, but the Ancestry.com records seem to skip to 1840 after that, and he is not there. Olof and Christian seem to go to Tvååker (Olof in 1835 and Christian in 1838), but I cannot find them anywhere in Tvååker. Also, maybe this should be under a different topic, but any information about them before 1832 or who their father was would also be appreciated. Thanks so much for your time, Eli

The note says "få upfosters hjelp", Anna is having some help raising her children. Olof is going to Tvååker 1835, Bengt or if it is Christian is going to "Hökagl", Hökagården I believe.

The dead father and husband Karl Olsson must have died between 1822 when Christian was born and 1832 when the family was written into that book. It seems like old church books are missing in this municipality but there are some other books to check
In the tax records (mantalslängd) for 1820 there is a Carl Olsson 37 years old and his wife 36 years old at the farm Ögärdet. After that no books seem to be scanned until 1829, and then only the widow Anna 45 with her children Olof 9, Bengt 9 and Christian 6 years old are left, so that's where they lived before moving away. And Karl must have died between 1822 and 1829. Going back even further I find Carl Olsson at the farm in 1813, with Anna working for him, the next year they are married. I can't really find any of them in Dagsås before that so they might be moved in from elsewhere, or maybe I just missed them.

Thanks so much Kalle. The records on Ancestry only go back to 1832. Is it possible that when it says Tvååker, it might actually be referring to another place nearby? Because I don't see Olof or Christian anywhere in Tvååker. Maybe the borders changed or something?

Tvååker kan only be that parish and you will find Olof in it, right here:

Bengt moves to Hökagården in Dagsås, you will find him here: (he ends up in Gothenburg eventually)

Christian was a a few years younger and stayed with his mother a little bit longer, I don't know where he ended up.

Oh my gosh! I looked through every page in that book twice! I don't know how I missed that. Thanks for your help again Kalle! Although Tvååker was a dead end, I looked back through the Dagsås record for 1840-1845. I found an Olof Carlsson born the 1st of Feb. 1819.. I was thinking maybe someone made a mistake because if you look at the Tvååker record, I can see how someone could mistake that 6 for a 1. I was going to trace it backwards, but it says he came from Skärbäck in 1842, and I don't know where that is. I will try going forwards instead..

Thank you. Yep, that looks like him - he came from Morup before that, and it says he was born in Dagsås. Going forward, I see he also moves to Gothenburg in 1845. I think that is beyond me. Not even sure where to start there..

Gothenburg is a mess, it's way to big. Bengt moved to the "Gustavi" part of the city from Kungsbacka in 1857, and later on to Örgryte, which is in the outskirts . But maybe you can trace him backwards from Kungsbacka if you want to. I don't know if he ever lived with his twin brother or any other family member though. I guess it's Christian you are descended from?

Yes, I could trace him backwards.. How do you know where he goes afterwards already?? To be honest, I am not descended from any of them, but I am related to them. I have a rather large public tree on Ancestry that is ever expanding outwards. It helps with the DNA identification.. Also, I don't think they are in anyone else's tree on Ancestry.
