I found her in Kulla, Okna, Jonkoping in Household record 1861-1865 Page 147 moving to Stockholm on 11 September 1865.

I was able to find her in the moving out records but have no idea how to find her in Stockholm.

Sure will be grateful for help.

Hi!

Karolina died 1915-07-21 in Hedvig Eleonora (Hedvig Eleonora (A, AB) FI:22 (1915-1919) Bild 300 / sid 20 (AID: v85687a.b300.s20, NAD: SE/SSA/0006), #189/1915 -- found with the help of Sveriges Dödbok).

She's the widow after former haulage contractor ("f.d. åkeriägaren") Asp, and was living at Nybrogatan 18. According to Rotemansarkivet (hit "Samma individ" on the left to see her full history), they lived there at least from 1878 (when the Roteman-system started).

Gustaf August Asp, born 1853-05-16 in Appuna (E) and Karolina were married 1878-04-07 (Hedvig Eleonora (A, AB) EII:6 (1862-1878) Bild 284 (AID: v85660.b284, NAD: SE/SSA/0006). They had two sons, Karl Gustav, born 1878-04-14 (just a week after the wedding ...), and Nils Erik Wilhelm, born 1881-10-20.

In 1870, Karolina was a piga with former postal director Broman at Slussplan 63 (the quarter Achilles) in Nicolai (http://digitalastadsarkivet.stockholm.se/Bildarkiv/Egenproducerat/SE-SSA-0032/mantalsbok/M7001010338_150dpi.pdf).

Thanks Staffan!

The blue parts are confusing to me. The first one takes me to place where info needs to be filled in. The second one is what? Where does it say for her birth?

The blue parts? if you refer to the links, the first is to Rotemansarkivet. Chose language up to the right, then fill in search information about the person you are looking for, don't use more than necessary to find the person and limit the hits.

The second is to a tax registration document. It say Carolina is born 1843, Sept 7, and using that in Rotemansarkivet ("18430907") and carolina as first name, nothing more, you find her as Carolina Ask. Click an entry to see details.

Sorry for the cryptic link to Rotemansarkivet, had a momentary lapse of reasoning and thought I could send you directly to my search results -- which unfortunately is technically impossible, it turns out. But Leif's explanation was spot on!

As atonement, I've tried to find a good explanation on how to do research in Stockholm, and have to ask "how's your Swedish"? There's a FamilySearch Wiki article, in English (https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/Stockholm_City,_Stockholm,_Sweden_Genealogy), but that barely mentions the Rotemansarkiv. There's a Swedish alternative at https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/sv/Att_forska_i_Stockholm that is much better, although a bit dated. Try that with Google translate?

Well think it is good if you write to them here and the National Archives page you can get in English as well as the City Archives in English
Contact the archives and ask and you will get answers from there which is good.
But ask the relatives later in the forum if you need more help

No worry Staffan. Thanks again! I know just a few words in Swedish but use Google translate often. Glad for Links.

Oh my, Bert-Ola, so much info you give me. Thanks so very much! If I cannot figure it all out I will be back in a couple weeks to ask more explanation. It will be such a good leaning experience for me.
