Apologies for my poor Swedish translation skills and for not having a proper page citation, but can anyone help me with the notation for Eric, at the top of page 80, under Anmärkingar (Remark)? Sorry I do not have a closer view of this file to post. Thank you for any assistance!

Best,
John

it says "Pliktadt för dubbelt hor". That means that he has been fined for sexual intercourse with a married woman (not his wife).

Thank you Stefan. Well that's one way to deal with that situation, I suppose. I've seen similar entries in records from the 1600s in Puritan New England, US. Many thanks for the helpful translation on that entry!

John

Following this same family, when the wife, Maria, later dies in Järnboås in 1787, I can understand the record attached, except for:

What is the comment under Gift eller Ogift (Married or Unmarried), after Eric's name?

And what is the one word under Uppförande (Conduct)?

Tack för din hjälp!

Married/unmarried column: After Eric's name it says "sedan hon tjent på flera ställen" = "after she had served on several places"
Conduct column = "dygdig" ="virtuous".

Thank you Stefan, as I would not have been able to decipher those remarks!

When the husband, Eric, dies two years later in 1789, also in Järnboås, I can't tell if the Sjukdom (Disease) is tvinsot (wasting), and what is the remark for him under Uppförande (Conduct)?

I do greatly appreciate the help!
John

Is it the entry regarding a person 54 years old who died 28 March?

"waret ostadig i sin lefnad" (varit ostadig i sin levnad)
"has been inconstant in life"

"Gulsot" - hepatitis.

Thank you Håkan! Yes, it's the 54 year old. Sorry I didn't specify that, as I forgot that I posted a close-up view that cut out the name. Thank you very much for your help, as well as to Stefan for this prior translations relating to entries for this same family. I really appreciate the kind assistance.

With appreciation,
John
