Attached is an image from the 1918-1924 Malmö Sankt Johannes parish records.
This record is for Jan Ove Alfred Ljunggren (born Oct 8 1892). Can anyone translate the highlighted message and where he moves to?

Here is a link to the original page

He is line 15 on the page

Thanks,
George

Hi!

I think it says : Äktenskapscertifikat utf den 16/7 1917 f giftermål med Danska undersåten Alma ?H (?) Gunhilda Nilsson 253/13 i Köpenhamn. Meaning: "Marriage certificate executed July 16 1917 for marriage with the Danish citizen Alma ? Gunhilda Nilsson 253/13 in Copenhagen".
I think it can be Ch. short for Christina but I am not sure.
The numbers 253/13 is his military service number.

Klas

I would like to take a look at the original page but I can't get access to riksarkivet via your link. Can you please tell me in what book and page I can find this information. I suspect that it can be that he moved to page 122 but I will have to see the wole page to get a better picture.

Klas

I hope this is enough information to find the book.

I think it says: "Å. församl 122 -21 (then this is over crossed and above can be seen) dbef 175"
This means: Å parish 122 -21. dbef (perhaps short for this book following volume?) 175.

I have searched but can not find Jan Ljunggren. Å. can be short for a parish that begins with an Å and there are two such parishes in Lunds Stift area, Åhus and Åryd. But it is likely that he never moved there and instead was transferred to the next volume. Now it becomes even more tricky because Östra förstaden in Johannes Parish became a part of Skrävlinge Parish from 1925. If you do not get more help with this here I suggest that you copy the last part with Å fösaml 122 -21 dbef 175 and ask where he moved, in a new topic or under Johannes Parish in Malmö

You can always read the register for moving out from Johannes Parish in 1921. I think they are several hundreds but you might find him there if he really moved out that year. I am a little curious about why Jan is living in Malmö without his wife though the book mention his wedding certificate? Apparently he married Alma in August 1917 and they got a child soon there after, Alma is called Eleonor as second name in Denmark though.

He is located in the book of non-existent people.  I believe that means he left without letting the church know he was leaving.  I am assuming that he went to Denmark.   Where did you find information about them having a child?

Hi!

It was my wife who searched on google and found them on the Danish National Archive. Write Jan Ove Albert Ljunggren on google and choose the link with cs.sa.dk. (unfortunately there is no adress to link to ) When we searched it was the 11th alternativ on google. When you reach the site you will find them at number 1232. For us they were the 12th post. It is also a Danish adress there. The daughter was born on October 25 1917. The mother was 19 at that time and the father was Jan Ove Albert Ljunggren. Jan is noted as karetmager which seems to be similar to vagnsmakare, or coach maker in English, which was the title he had in Sweden.

I found the girls name.  It is Lilly Sonja Gerhard.  Her mother Alma married Vilhelm Gerhard in 1931.  I don't know what happened to Jan Ove Ljunggren.  Lily ends up moving to the United States and the address of her relative in America on the passenger listing is about a mile or so from where I live here on Long Island NY.  Small world.

That was indeed a funny coincidence, it is sometimes a small world out there :-)

Good luck with trying to find Jan Ove.

Klas
