Duane Wicklund

I cannot read Swedish to any extent, and my
Swede-English dictionerys are no help, so if I
bumble please forgive.
My GGgrandfather, Pehr Wiklund, born 1825 in
Brunflo, Jamtland took his family to Veståna,
Indals-Liden, Medelpads, Vasternorrlands about
1860. His grandchild Peter Wiklund emigrated to
the USA in June, 1892. Pehr's son, Jacob Petter
emigrated to the USA in June or July 1893. What
information like birth records, residence, and
Pehr's death record can be had? Any help would be
greatly appreciated. If I am doing this wrong,
please someone steer me in the right

Hallo Duane
In a type of census from Vasternorrland 1890 I have found Pehr and his wife.
Look at http://www.foark.umu.se/folk/y/person.asp?lannr=22&forsnr=16&pnr=1987

He was born in Lockne, Jamtland but his wife was born in Brunflo.

Hello Duane.

Jakob Petter Wiklund and his family are also to be found in the census mentioned above:
http://www.foark.umu.se/folk/y/person.asp?lannr=22&forsnr=16&pnr=1992

There you see the family at that time and that they lived in Västanå (Vestanå), Indalsliden in Västernorrlands län and were all born in Indalsliden:

Jakob Petter Wiklund, born 1851, farmer (husband)
Lisa Kajsa Eriksdotter, born 1845 (wife)
Children:
Petrus Leonard, born 1874 (perhaps your Peter?)
Jonas Emil, born 1879
Beda Elisabet, born 1886.

The information in the census is taken from the household examination roll (husförhörslängd) in the parish, as far as I understand. So you could find the original notices yourself in microfilmed copies of the rolls. Records of births, deaths and marriages are also microfilmed. Somebody else can inform you better on how to find copies of it in the States.
