When my great grandmother Esther (Stenman) Jonsson-Fornell passed away, she apparently had ownership of an Island, presumably Near Nederkalix, as that is where she was from. So my Dad and his 2 sisters inherited parts of it. We never knew anything about this island while she was alive, and would be interested in knowing what that is all about. Also, the Surname Svenonius (spelling may or may not be correct. relation by marriage to Helena Stenman AFTER arriving in the USA) I also have a marriage portrait from a studio in Nederkalix I am trying to find out who it is.

My Great Grandmother Esther Stenman,(daughter to Nils O. Stenman of Storön) and Great Grandfather Helge Sigurd Jonsson immigrated to US (seperately) in the early 1920's. They had one son, my grandpa, Arthur Helge Jonsson. (or Artur as is is spelled on some of his belongings) They traveled back to Sweden often, and we have lots of old filmreels of Kalix. So I presume there was still a lot of family left. I'm interested in finding them, and knowing more information about these two lines.
