Sorry I have been so slow at replying to the posting on Ola and Johannes Larsson. I see the notation on the record you scanned in. The one I was looking at did not have that notation on, perhaps it was a copy. Now I just need to find the death date for their mormor, Hanna Ohlsdotter (Olsdotter) b. 22 September 1796, Bjäresjö; living at Karup, Blentarp (M) 02 September 1853 when her husband Anders Johansson (a.k.a. Andreas Borgström)died.

Hello,
I'm back,still looking for more information on John Bernadot (Johan Bernadott Johansson). Can anyone help with his emigration? I cannot find him on the Ellis Island record. I have found his obituary, and it lists his wife Anna Larson whom he married 14 May 1927. I know he was married to someone named Amanda, and from the previous information from Karin & Maud, he was married to a Bengta Bengtsdotter in Sweden also. His obituary lists these children; Bert (Birger Gotthard) of Las Vegas Nevada; Hilding of Sweden; daughter Ingrid Bergman(Ida Adele??)of Sweden and Elmer of Dakota ?. Elmer was born when he was married to Amanda. I'm hoping to find if he came to the US alone. And what happened to his wife Bengta. I know his 1st wife Amanda in the US died about 1924.
Hope this is not too confusing. Thank you for any help.

So now you have helped me solve one problem. No wonder I could not find John Bernadot on any records! I shall start looking at Johansson or Johnson or something thing like that.
I must now figure out about his wife Bengta Bengtsdotter. I have a wife named Amanda, and a second one named Anna. Maybe Bengta did not emigrate or died shortly after coming to the US. I shall check.

Peela Josephine Matsson born 13 July 1894, married Bert Bernadot 05 August 1913.
Amanda Svanson born 1872 immigrated to US 1899/1900

Thank you for the information, now what I read in the Vigde microfilm makes some sense to me. The sponsor for the bride was matros (sailor/seaman?) Ola Ohlsson from Klintholmen. I think this must have been her brother? Her father was Ola Påhlsson, and he was a fiskare (fisherman?).
One more little piece of my puzzle.

Hej
Does anyone know of a place in Bjäresjö that would be named Klintholem? Looking at church records from the Family History Center microfilm #0144924 and found the record of marriage 28 February 1819 in Bjäresjö for:
Hanna Olhsdotter fodd 22 September 1796 (Bjäresjö)
and
Andreas Borgström fodd 17 April 1797 (Södra Åsum)
it mentions someplace named Klintholmen(or at least that is what I think it says.
Any help would truly be appreciated.

Looking for any lead to Karna Olsdotter born 01 August 1761 in Balkåkra Parish, Malmöhus län. She married Ols/Ola Pålsson/Påhlsson who was born in Bjäresjö Parish 23 September 1764.
I have been working with microfilm from LDS, but it is very difficult to read. I am hoping someone can help to narrow down dates, that makes it easier to search.

Hello,
I am looking for information about the family of Emma Carolina Augusta Walhberg born 17 October 1853.
Her parents were Gabriel Wahlberg and Helena Catharina Paulsdotter. They were married 28 October 1842 in Alva.
This is my interest. Emma married the maternal uncle of my grandmother(farmor). His name was Anders Johan Svensson. He was born in Allsjömåla, Augerum, Blenkinge. He moved to Hemse Gotland 1880, and I believe married Emma about 1882. They then emigrated to Chicago, Illinois USA. If anyone is related to Emma and has any information about her, I would dearly love to hear from them.

Hello,
Seeking some help on explaining an entry in the parish record.
I have a copy from microfilm dated 2 October 1870 for Blentarp Parish Malmöhus län. It shows the birth of my grandfather Ola Larsson son of Lars Trulsson and Britta Andreasdotter. Nr.10 Blentarp. Bracketed with this is the name of another child Johannes, but it does not list them as twins(tvilling). They each have different godparents. I know that there was another child named Johannes born to these parents at a later date, but I have his birth/christening record, so they are not the same. Can someone shed some light on this entry?
I would truly appreciate any help on the matter.

Hanna Oldsdotter born in Bjäresjö Socken in 1797. She married Andreas Bergström (born 1797 in Södra Åsum Socken). The marriage probably took place before 1836. A daughter Britta Andreasdotter was born to them on 7 October 1837.

Hi Stephan,
I guess I should clarify what I mean. I know where Blentarp is, I was there 2 years ago. Visited with several distant cousins, but I don't speak Swedish, and they don't speak English, so it was the duel of the dictionaries! They were most delightful, and my sisters and I had a wonderful visit in what we all think is a fantastically beautiful area of Sweden.
It is sad to think that our farfar and his brothers had to leave such beauty to find work in the US.
However, I am finding it very difficult to find much information to help with genealogy records for Blentarp, now that I am back in the US.
I am looking for some help in locating records that are easily available in the US.

I am sure having a terrible time finding information about Blentarp Parish, and also Malmöhus län on any genealogy sites, or on microfilm. Can anyone tell my why this is? My farmor's family came from Smaland on the border with Blenkinge, I am able to trace that family easily, why not in Malmöhus län? Any suggestions for records in Blentarp. Looking for my farfar's family Lars Trulsson and Britha Andreasdotter.

I am researching my farfar's mormor.
Hanna Oldsdotter b. 1797 in Bjäresjö Parish. I have very little information to start with. She married Andreas Johansson probably some time before 1836 as their daughter Brita Andreasdotter was born 7 October 1837 in Slimminge Parish. The location I have for the birth of Andreas Johansson must be wrong as I can find no parish named Asum.

Thank you for the information. You helped me quite a bit in the past with Tilda Svensdotter Lindgren (wife of Frans Ludvig Lindgren). She was the maternal aunt of Hilda. My theory is that Hilda Helena, and her two sisters Ida Christina who emigrated in 1887 and Lydia Maria who emigrated in 1892 may have stayed with their aunt Tilda in Stockholm while they worked to earn money for their emigration.

I am looking for information on Tilda Lindgren, born Svensdotter 27 April 1861 in Torsås. She moved to Stockholm about November 1879. I believe she married Frans Ludvig Lindgren born 13 October 1859, location unknown.
I have the following children:

Nils Wilhelm Lindgren b. 11 August 1888
Karl Oskar Magnus Lindgren b. 23 October 1890

This family may have been living in Stockholm in Höglid parish between 1897 and 1907.

I am looking for some information on Emma Carolina Augusta Gabrielsdotter Wahlberg. Birth date 17 November 1853 Stora Kruse, Alva.
I have been working with Lutheran Church Archive Records for Saron Swedish Lutheran Church in Chicago Illinois. The person listed as Emma Carolina Augusta Wahlberg Svensson appears on these records with the same birth date and birth location. It also lists her arrival in the US as 1882. She lived in Chicago and died sometime about 1935. Does anyone have any information? Many thanks for any help.
