Discussions in English / SV: Translation of death record.

Thank you for all your help. I will try to follow your instructions for the military records though Erik Larsson didn't die in 1698. He was married in 1694 and his wife's death record says she was married for 6 years before she became a widow so he must have died in 1700. I don't know how accurate Wikipedia is about the history of Sweden but it says there was a ware called The Great Northern War that started in 1700 and lasted until about 1721. Thank you again for the guidance for using the military records in Arkivdigital.

Thank you very much Erik I could only translate about 40% of that on my own. It is wonderful to have the entire record translated. I love the parish priests who gave such detail in their death records. I was hoping there might be more of a hint about her husbands death but that is okay. I haven't been able to find a death record for him where he and his family lived. Do you know where I might find a tutorial to help make better use of the military records on Arkivdigital. I have tried and have some difficulty with them?

Swedish geography / Hedby in Leksand, Kopparberg
« skrivet: 2018-11-19, 19:30 »
I am trying to follow a family in Hedby through time but The Hedby village or farm seems to disappear from the Leksand household records from 1741 - 1772 and then reappears in the next volume. How do I find out if Hedby had a different name during this time period.
Thanks
Genee.

I was wondering if someone could help me with the translation of a very detailed death record Leksand (W) F:9 (1741-1752) Bild: 42 Sida: 38 It is for Margeta Larsdotter and is Item 2 on 25 p. Trinitatis. I can read a little Svenska but I am self taught and have trouble with vocabulary. I don't know if it is possible to do a complete translation on this forum or if someone would need my email address. The record gives information about her husband's death that I don't completely understand but I suspect that because he was a soldier he may have fallen in Stora nordiska Kriget. I can find no death record in his parish and I'm not entirely sure how to find that information in military records. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Genee

Thank you all for all of your help. I have the marriage record as well as Elin Eriksdatters baptism record. I also have baptism records Elins 5 siblings. I am stuck when it comes to where Erik Börjesson was born and I'm am checking all of the surrounding parishes. I am also trying to find where Bengt Erikssons siblings went after their parents died.

Yes I have Erik and Elin's marriage record here Steneby (P) C:3 (1742-1773) Bild: 69 Sida: 129. They were married 27 December 1754. Elin is from Signebyn in Steneby and her parents are Erik Larsson and Elin Rasmusdotter. The marriage record does not give their parents names but does say where they are from. It says that Erik Börjesson is from Steneby Prästegård but I can not find a Prästegård in Steneby but I do find one in Tisselskog but I can't find a baptism record for him in Steneby or Tisselskog and I have looked from 1717- 1723 even though he should be born closer to 1720 according to the age given in his death and burial record.

Thank you very much Sonia that is very helpful to know who Olof Olsson is. I knew about the daughter Elin and they also had a daughter Anna who must have died by 1772 because she is not mentioned in the estate inventory. I know quite a bit about Bengt because he is my 4th great grandfather. I was hoping to find out what happened to his siblings and knowing that Olof Olsson is the husband of Erik Börjessons sister makes me think that may be where the other children went. I was also hoping the record would help me figure out where Erik was born but it does not appear to have that information.

Thank you very much. I was having trouble finding those places. I will look there and see if the children went to live with their uncle's families.

I can read about 35% of these probate records but I would like to get more information from them. The record for the mother Elin Eriksdatter in the family I am researching is here Vedbo häradsrätt (P) FIIa:4 (1767-1772) Bild: 532 Sida: 1059 and the record for the father Erik Börjesson is here Vedbo häradsrätt (P) FIIa:4 (1767-1772) Bild: 464 Sida: 923 and here Vedbo häradsrätt (P) FIIa:4 (1767-1772) Bild: 469 Sida: 933 and here Vedbo häradsrätt (P) FIIa:4 (1767-1772) Bild: 470 Sida: 935. Mostly what I would like to know is if there is any hint as to where the children went after their parents died and if it says anything about where Erik may have been born. The children I knew about before I found this probate record were born in Tisselskog, Älvsborg. I did not find any record of birth or baptism in Tisselskog for their son Börge or their son Erik.
Thank you very much.
