Father Steffen Steffenson I was born In 1620  Sandsjö, Dalarna, Sweden.
he died in 1678 at Vålberget, Grue Finnskog.  He used the name Mullikka -
Vålberget in Finnskog.
Steffenson Steffenson II , born 1662 @Ragnoaldstjärn, Gräsmark, Sunne,
Varmland, SW.  He died @Vålberget, Grue (church area?)Hedmark, Norway ca
1743.
The parents of Steffenson I were Steffen   P ovelsson Mulikka 1595-1650;
and Cecelia hendricksdtr, 1618.
The parents of Steffenson II were Steffen Steffenson were SSI and Annika Persdotter , born Pennainen.

Are there any church 'in coming' records in Sweden that indicate when these
families came from Finland to Sweden?  I am familiar with some places in
Varmland but have no knowledge of where the above Varmland locations are.
This family originated in central Finland in an  area called Mullika.

Thank you.

I recently found a note saying that a family maybe came from Raisala and Aland Islands to Kronoberg County in Sweden.  My DNA shows a small Finland percentage in addition to Norwegian and Swedish ???

Thank you for your answers.  I wish I had read your last sentence about Anders Emil carefully before.  Is there a reference to his wife's name ? Where did they live?  Where was Anders living ? Any children?  Is Östervallskog a farm name?  From Minnesota where we just had a terrible tornado a few miles away (Dalton - Ashby area) 170 miles  per hour.

Anders Emil Erikson

from Töcksmark Alla1, 1896-1900, I have found an Anders Emil Erikson, born Dec. 26,1866.  Living at Elofsbyn, Töcksmark, Värmland, SW  He married 16 Feb. 1894 Kristina Andersdotter.  From the book, Töcksmark Alla 2, 1901-1900, there are several children born. 1840-1947  Anders Emil is still living at the same  place.  Kristina Andersdotter died 07 26/4.  I believe I noticed that the youngest son, Bernard emigrated to the US 9/2/23.  I have done a little searching for him and found a Bernard Englebretson in Portland, Oregon, USA.  I'm still searching for the Anders Emil that did not go with his  parents to America as I have asked about before.  Thanks for any help.

A son, named Anders Emil was born 6 Oct. 1866 in Västra Fågelvik or Homedal to Erik Englebretson and his wife, Mariane Andersdotter.  They moved to one of the Sloreby farms in Norway.  Anders was confirmed in Øymark church on 9 Maria Eriksdotter who married and stayed in Holmedal, I think. The information about her is listed on a query of mine on the Holmedal parish page.  Does anyone have a clue as to Anders possibly staying in Sweden, too, or Norway?

The 1900 census shows Anders Eriksen; wife Petrine Ferdinantsdatter (born in Finland 20 mar 1877) residing at Øymark, Østfold, Norge.  There are these children:  Nora, Helga Johan and Karl.  The previous census could have been 1910 as the 1900 census gives a street address of Ørje Brugsarbeiderbolig 0070  and residence Aremark, Østfold, norge and only the daughters were included along with a lodger. Farm number 91.
I'm still  hunting for Anders Emil Erikson, born in Våstra Fågelvik,
Sweden who came to the Sloreby farm in Norway and was confirmed in the Øymark church; also where in Finland Petrina might have come from.  Just hoping!  Thanks

Anders Andersson ( 16 June 1798 - Flotane Västra Fågelvik , Varmland) married Maria Danielsdotter (born 29 Aug. 1794)from Nössemark, Alvesborg .  She died at Slorby in nearby Norway. Maria's parents were Soldier Daniel  Osmundsson
Mossberg (born 27 Sept. 1771 - died Sept. 18, 1831) and Katrina Halvorsdotter (born 1767).  Soldier Daniel Osmundsson's parents were Corporal Osmund Mossberg (born 1752 d. 1789/1794?) and Anna Andersdotter  (b. 1730).  I have been told Mossberg was a familiar soldier's name and have not been able to continue to find older ancestors.  Is it possible to find the correct family?
Thank you.

I should have asked for help regarding Soldier Lars Johansson in the last post.  The information that I have :
born 24 Dec. 1793 in Hamra Söregård, Hinneryd
m.  29 March 1816
D. 08May 1851 in Tansjö, Hinneryd (perhaps buried that date)
Married Gunnil Larsdotter; born 06 August 1792 in Fälleshult, Hinneryd   D. 28 Mar
ch 1832

Parents of Lars were :
Johan Nilsson born in Hamre Södergård,1793; Bengta Johansdotter , 1755 in Tansjö Västregård

15
Gustava Andersdotter had 3 soldiers in her mother's family:
Soldier Lars Johansson 1793-1851.  Her mother was born 1818 in St Uppsala (soldier's holding).
Her brother Sven Johan Stahl came to North Dakota USA. Her gt. grandfather is a mystery.  His name was Lars Bengtsson Rosengren.  I add that soldier Lars Johannsson was Gustava's maternal grandfather and Lars Bengtsson a gt. grandfather.  The family history book states military  service traces to the early 1700's

I have a note that an Anders Eliason married a Johanna Agatha Johansdotter /Larsdotter and one of them or both might be from Finland.  My DNA report shows a small percentage of 2% as coming from Finland.  I realize this is confusing to you as well as me but I just thought to ask if it made any sense??

I think I am lost as I have not used this site for so long!  What I need to know is 'Are the parishes of Töcksmark (formerly Tysmark)  fairly close to the Parish of Västra Fågelvik in Varmland?"  The reason being that Julia Andersdotter Brynglsson came from Tysmark  to Minnesota and married Ole Sommerness from Nordland, Norway.   Then my gt. grandfather and mother came to Minnesota and stayed at the Sommerness  home while a home for them was built.  My gt. grand father came from the parish of Västra Fågelvik.  This has us thinking that Julia probably had met Anders and Anna Anderson who came to America  and stayed with Julia and Ole for a short while???

SE/VA/13590/A II a/1 (1896-1900) page 165/picture 171 (SVAR)   The picture should be of Eriksson, Olof Alfred far, Eriksdotter ,Maria Mor and children ,Erhard Fridolf and Gustaf Algot.  Perhaps also Olsdotter, Ingeborg, Ensam

Would anyone have this access to finding this picture and  posting it here?

As I look at my children's list of Erik; Maria, born in 1864 must have been the child of Marit Olsdotter who died in May 1864. Perhaps at the birth of her child.  I do not have Maria's full birthdate - is it hard to look for that?
The other birthday that I am missing is that of Johan Edvard who was born in 1869 before the family moved to Norway.  As my Swedish mother's family say,
We are Swedes with a Norwegian farm name, Sloreby. That name was used by my gt. grandparent here in America.

Erik Engebretson was born 11 April 1824. He might have married first Maria
Nilsdtr. 12 May 1856.  A child was born 30 Sept. 1859 in Holmedal. Possibly, this child, named Anna Charlotte, went to Kråkstad (a parish in Akershus county, near Oslo) in 1867.  Her birth may have been Sept. 1857??  Did her mother die so she might have been sent to live with relatives?? Erik married Mariane Andersdotter, born 21 Sept. 1834 in Västra Fågelvik -Vang farm. There are other children listed Maria, born 1864 in Holmedal, Anders Emil born 6 oct. 1866, Johan Edvard born 1869, Emma Matilda born 19 Feb. 1872 in Øymark, Ostfold, Norway, as were Karl Anton born 10 June 1874 and Nils Olai born 1 Nov. 1877. About 1882 the parents and several children emigrated to MN and later Wisconsin, USA.  In Norway, the family lived at the Sloreby farm. Is the marriage date for Erik and Mariane possible to find?

Thank you very much for the reply.  We would be happy to know more about Johan and Gustava.  I don't know why Gustava used the patronymic name Monson.  My e-mail address is wctweton@prtel.com    I live a few miles from the Swedish Baptist Church.  If you would like to view the tombstones of Johan and family
Google Find a Grave. Then click on cemetery Lookup and type in US, then Minnesota, then Otter Tail county, then Swedish Baptist and it will bring up the Swedish Baptist cemetery and you can view all the Wenstroms buried there.
Do not add any additional words on the cemetery line, just Swedish Baptist, as it doesn't seem to find it if you add any other word .  Some of my relatives named Sandberg were also buried there.

Emma Nilson, daughter of Nils Svensson Täck and Anna Lisa Fogelberg (Hinneryd)married Gustav Wenstrom (Venstrom, Vennerstrom) and came to Minnesota and then to Canada.  However, there is another Wenstrom family which came (1872) to the same MN area and some of the family stayed in Otter Tail County.  Their names were Johan Svensson (born Jul. 3, 1836) and Gustava Mansdotter (Munson?), born Nov. 30, 1838.  Johan used the name John S. Wenstrom in the US.  I do not think the families are related but are there more places in Hinneryd or other neighoring areas with the Wenstrom name?  Täck was a soldier name in Tommaryd, parish in Hallaryd, I believe.  I think Gustav Wenstrom was also named a soldier.  What I really would like to know is where Johan and Gustava came from.

Hanna Ståhl married to Nils Jonsson.  Hanna was born June 15, 1897 and died July 22, 1979 in Hinneryd.

Selma Christina Ståhl, born 6 Nov., 1877 to a Petterson.  Emigrated ??

Another child, a son named Karl or Ivar Fritiof Ståhl, born 1894? has no information.

Any help would be appreciated.

Would anyone be able to help with finding descendants ?

Olof Johnson was born in Kumla, Örebro lan (Närke) Jan. 27 or 28th, 1848.  He emigrated to America 4/5/1880 with his wife, Karoline Kristina Goglund and several children.  Olof was a twin who remained in Sweden.  We would like to know the name of the twin and any further information.  The names of the parents of Olof and Karoline are unknown to us.  As family is visiting Sweden this year, they would like to know of Swedish family of the twin or other siblings.  Thank you

My gggrandmother was Caisa Andersdotter, dtr. of Soldat Anders Andersson Upperfalt and Marit Olsdotter, who lived at Uppran.  They had other children:  Anders 1820, Olof 1823, Anna 1824, Catrina 1829- 1829, Jonas 1830.  Caisa was born 17 Oct. 1826 and married Anders Andersson from Wang in 1856.  In the early 1870's, Caisa and Anders sold their part of Wang or Vang to his brother and they moved to Oymark in Ostfold County in Norway.  I would appreciate any information on Anders and Marit and family.

Does anyone have knowledge of Marie Danielsdatter, born 1794 in Nossemark, daughter of Daniel Mossberg, a soldier?  Did she stay in that part of Sweden or go to Vastra Fagelvik and marry about 1819?  Any information is welcome.  Thank you
