Thank you for your help. The ship passenger records you have found are for Richard Jr. who happened to marry a U.S.-born woman with the same first name as his mother, Wilhelmine. But Richard Jr's obituary places his parent's immigration date to the U.S. between his birth in June 1877 in Germany and his brother Albert's birth in Brooklyn in December 1879.

One of their children was Esther E. vom Lehn born on September 19, 1893 in Brooklyn, NY and married to Archer Adelbert Stephens on October, 19, 1913 in Brooklyn, NY. Esther moved to Waterville, Maine thereafter and died there on April 18, 1960.

They still lived at Jens Bjelkesgate 78 in 1910.
You will find her birth-record in Kampen parish as well, but this churchrecord is not online yet.

I am trying to help a friend find a record of her mothers birth. We are looking for Lillian Elfrieda Hansen who came from in or around Oslo born on September 7. Lillian died in the USA in 1966 at the age of 70 or 71. She came to Lynn, Massachusetts, USA when she was 15 to 17 years old to visit her eldest brother, Alfred, and stayed in the USA. A family photo with her parents in Norway or Sweden shows that she had at least one sister and three brothers. Lillian married Olaf Anderssen in the USA prior to 1950. Hello, In one of the Hus förhörslängder that I have studied for ancestors in Västra Ämtervik circa 1835, there are two unfamiliar place names noted: moved to Catad and moved to Carteta. Could anyone tell me where/what these places might be? Thank you, Joseph

Hello Lennart Hjerpe,
I wanted to tell you that I was able to visit Säljebacka in August. With the help of some local residents, I was able to find a history book about Västra Ämtervik published in 1948 which stated that Per Jansson and Maria Hjerpe lived in the farm called Där Inn circa 1830 - 1860, which still exists today. I was able to visit the farm and take pictures. Thank you for the information that you provided to me last year which helped me to ultimatley find the farm. Any additional information you have about this family would be very welcome.

I am trying to find the month and day of death, and cause of death for Maria Persdotter, born 1843-11-12, in Västra Ämtervik, Värmland died 1931, in Idenor, Hälsingland. She was the widow of Sven Olsson. I am also interested to know where in Idenor she lived.

Jag söker anor till Olsson, Sven. Filare. Född 1841-09-07 i Rudskoga (S). Död 1889-09-22 i Njutånger (X). Gift 1873-06-02 med Persdotter, Maria. Född 1843-11-12 i Västra Ämtervik (S). Han är min mmmf. Har inte funnit honom i kyrkoböker eller hus förhörslängden i Rudskoga 1840 - 1860. Kanske familjen bodde in Rudskoga och han är född i Nysunds försämling. Jag söker olika födelseort om Sven Olsson född 1841-09-07 i Rudskoga, Värmland. Han är inte på förteckningar eller hus hörsförlangdar i Rudskoga. Kanske finns olika ort på dotters födelse uppgifter i kyrkoböker från Älvkarleby.
Hans äldsta dotter Augusta Kristina Svensson var född 1870-10-06 i Älvkarleby. Mor var Maria Persdotter från Väster Ämtervik. Sven Olsson blev bruksarbetaren i Iggesund.

I've seen your website at Norrtälje Släktforskarförenings hemsida. What is the Husförhörslängd 1867 that you referenced and where is it stored?

I'm looking for records of my morfars familj. They came from Edebo, Nortälje kommun, Stockholms län, Uppland. Morfars fars namn vår Johan Larsson. Morfars mors namn vår Margareta Sundman. Min morfars namn vår Karl-Torsten född 1897. Morfars brors namn vår Anton-Mauritz. The brothers worked at Hallstaviks pappesbruk and emigrated to the USA in the early 1920's. There were 9 children by 1920. Could someone with access to 1900 folkräkning help? The children of the family took first the surname Johanson and then Jansson. My morfar took the surname Johnson when he settled on Long Island, New York, USA.

I'm looking for birthdate and parents of my mormors mor, Hilma Svensson. The information I have is from the text of a newspaper clipping below. She gave birth to my mormor, Helma Maria Matilda Jansson, at Karolinska Sjukhuset in Stockholm on October 19, 1912. Mormors far was Johan Ludvig Jansson of Herräng, Häverö, Roslagen, Uppland.
Newspaper Clipping Text: Föreståndarinnan för restaurationen var fröken Elvina Svensson från Iggesund, Hudiksvall. Hon kom ombord på “Everilda” i Gävle. Fröken S. Var 35 år. Hennes syster, Hilma Svensson, var städerska på båten. Hon gick om bord i Stockholm in onsdags i förra veckan. Hilma Svensson var 24 år gammal.
The steamship “Everilda” hit a mine and sank off the coast of Pori, Finland on December 6, 1914. The shipowner was Axel L. Nilsson and the home port was Helsingborg. Any information or suggestions are welcome.
