Using Arkivdigial, I've looked for records for Stranda county court and found lots of estate inventories (boupptecknigar). Then I discovered court records (dombok) in Göta Hövrätt - Advokatfiskalen - Kalmar län but they only go up to 1750. Do you have any idea where I can find more recent records?

I just found proof in Malmö Caroli PersonReg:6 (1845-1854) Image 23 that Arvid Samuel did take the surname Arvidsson. I notice in Malmö that there are fewer patronyms and more surnames, so I guess he decided to follow the trend.

Hello, all,
I'm researching Arvid Samuel Arvidsson of Döderhult AI:11 (1852-1860) Image 375 / page 366 where it says he was born in Malmö 20 August 1816. I looked in the birth records for Malmö Sankt Petri, the largest parish, and didn't find him. Then I looked in Malmö Caroli CI:9 (1814-1826) Image 42 / page 75 where I found an Arfvid Samuel born on that date to Bengt Arfvidsson. But that boy's name should have been Arvid Samuel Bengtsson, eller hur? Is it possible he took his grandfather's name as his patronym?

Thank you, Birger, for your help and research. You're right; I can't find Kristina's birth record. I'm looking at Misterhult CI:5 (1831-1860) Image 236 / page 459 and I don't see her born on 13 Sep 1840 either. Could you clarify?
I am looking forward to visiting the Klippan library to see my fars-fars-fars-bror's photos. I sure hope I can find some family photos!

Wow. That reconciliation due to discord in the marriage has been held makes me wonder. In the U.S. I know that women and girls could be committed to insane asylums for being angry or rebellious, going out with a man the parents didn't like, or being upset with a husband's gambling or womanizing. At least she wasn't committed and she returned home. What is your impression? Can you recommend any online resources where I can learn about the history of mental illness and its treatment in Sweden?

On lines 1 and 2 under anteckningar, I don't understand anything except förklard omyndig (declared legally incompetent), so I know it's about Nelly Blomgren being declared mentally ill. Can someone help me with the rest?
Also, on line 4, there are initials after Axel T.T. Blomgren's name and before his profession. What do they mean? Under anteckningar, what does fl. mean? And I don't understand Axel's värnpliktsförhållanden: Uppskov (respite? delay?) 1919 20, 51 ___, ____ R. O. 49. I would appreciate any help.

Missing pages in Congregation Records?
Hello all,
I'm researching Gråmanstorp (Klippan) AIIa:13 (1928-1940). On page 704 (line 1) it says the record was moved to N.B. III 704 (meaning new book Volume III, page 704) in 1940.
This book itself is part of N.B. III but the first page is 601.
There are four books for the period 1928-1940. These books are all labeled Volume III:
. AIIa:13 pages 601-1000
. AIIa:14 pages 1001-1400
. AIIa:15 pages 1401-1800
. AIIa:16 pages 1801-2200
There are no congregation records after 1940.
So what happened to pages 1-600 of N.B.III? Or am I misunderstanding something?

P.S. I actually came across him in the same book on page 613 (line 1), but I'm confused as to how he got there. Can anyone clarify?

1. I'm looking at a församlings book from 1900-08 and I see on line 5 an H for hustru (wife) and on lines 7 and 8 an S for son. On line 6, what does B stand for? I thought it stood for barn (child) but now that there are two more children in the family, I see it doesn't. I know Axel T.T. is Axel J.'s son, but why the B?
2. While I'm posting, could anyone clarify what 23 115/1888 at the end of line 4 in columns 14 and 15 means? I've seen it twice before in Kristdala C12 (1895-99) b129 s133 and Gråmanstorp (Klippan) AI:18 (1890-1900) b5 s1.
3. Third thing: To get the attachment down to 200Kb (maximum size for attachments) I had to save it as black and white. I've seen full color attachments in other posts. What's the secret? Smaller dimensions of the jpg/bmp?

Nu kan jag söka the proof myself with Arkivdigital and Google Translate to help me with my rusty svenska. I know I will be back asking for help translating archaic terms. I've been waiting for this information since I first tracked down Josef Blomgren in 1979 in a Kristdala kyrkobok and the pastor told me I would have to go to Stockholm to find the older books. Hello, everyone, For years my family has been stuck finding the parents of Josef Blomgren (no middle name) born 14 February 1835 in Södra Vi (according to the church records in Kristdala). I recently got access to the Riksarkiv ( http://riksarkivet.se/) and opened the archive for births in Södra Vi on February 1835. There was one Joseph born on that date, son of crofter (torpare) Birger Thorbjörnsson and his wife Sara Lena Johansdotter. The first name and birth date are such close matches that I'd like to believe that this is the ancestor who changed his name to Blomgren. How can I prove this? When people changed their names from a patronym to a fixed surname, was there any documentation?
