Hej, jag söker efter Brita Westring, som födde 3 Feb 1761 i Sandby. Men jag finne hon inte; läser jag inte rätt? Är Westring egenligen en svensk namn eller kommer det från ett andra land? Tak!

Hej Karl-Henrik,
Thanks so much for the information! I would very much like the other information you have, because I've had some trouble reading the records at that time. Can I email you using the address in your profile?
Thanks--Benedict

Hej. I'm looking at Torpa (E) AI:1 (1783-1790) image53/page87 from AD. The entry is Mårstorp for Sven Benetsson and I can't tell what it says, first where Maja Borgesdtr's birth place. And is there anything important or interesting in the right hand column? I can speak some Swedish, but the handwriting is difficult! Can anyone help me out? Tack så mycket!

Hello. I'm trying to find the birth record of Peter Hane in Karlskoga. He was supposed to be born in 1739. I can read some Swedish, but I can't read enough to find it in Karlskoga C:4. If anyone can help out, I would *really* appreciate it. Thanks!

Hello,
I'm looking for the birth record of Lena Stena Rosengren, born in December 1798 (I'm almost certain). I think it's supposed to be in Västra Ed C:5, but I can't figure it out. Maybe because my Swedish is bad? Can anyone help me out? Tak!

Thanks Chris! How can you tell that it's an Inn? I guess I'm still learning.

Archive - Swedish geography / Gliby?
« skrivet: 2012-07-22, 21:37 »
Hello,
I'm looking at a person in Lofta, Kalmar, who was born in something that looks like Gliby or Gleby (see Lofta AI:21 1855-60, Img 308, p 295. Persdotter). I think this might be an abbreviation for something, but I can't figure out what. Any suggestions?

My Swedish is not very good and I am having trouble reading a death entry from Målilla. It's in Målilla C:4 pg 647, namn Nils Persson. I don't understand Fadror Soldat Per Stigberg för Stighult. His father was Per Stigberg from Stighult? If so, is his (Nils Persson) birth record missing, because I was unable to find it in 1776. Tack för hjälpe!

Hello,
My Swedish is not so good and I'm not sure I understand what an entry in the husförhörslängd means. In Norrköpings S:t Olai AI:79 (1873-1877) Image 325/ page 662, I'm looking at Hane, Katarina Matilda (at the bottom). I think it says she moved, but I cannot find the correct entry for her elsewhere. It says page 708 at the right hand side, but I cannot find a page 708. Am I mistaken? Thanks!

Swedish geography / Farm/Locality Names
« skrivet: 2012-06-30, 02:53 »
Does anyone know a good place to find out where specific farms were located? Or towns that don't seem to appear on Google maps?

Do you think the priest would go back to previous leaving/arriving documents to underline? This is a person who left for the USA, came back, and then later left again, so your explanation would make sense.

Hello,
I have been looking at the moving in and moving out records of my ancestors and I've noticed that my ancestors are underlined in the records, sometimes in red, for no reason that I can figure out. Sometimes there's another person or two in the list who are also underlined, but generally it's just my person (and this happens in 2 or 3 different records, not just one; that's why I noticed). Anyone know what this might mean?
