I would like to find out who the parents were for my ggg grandmother, SISSELA PERSDOTTER (B: 7/22/1792 and D: 1879 either 4/21 or 1/28) she married BENGT JONSSON (B:10/1/1777 in Torpakra, D: 3/12/1847)-they married 7/15/1827 (it was his 2nd marriage, his first wife Bengta Larsdotter died in 1825). SISSELA and BENGT had 5 children together, they were: BOTILLA b:1827, NILS b:1829, SVEN b:1833, OLOF b:1837, JOHANNA b:1846. They may have also had a foster daughter Cicela Persdotter b:1823 in Torup (child of Kerstina Persdotter)-but I'm not positive. I would like any information on the foster daughter and especially the parents of SISSELA PERSDOTTER born in 1792 listed above. Thank you for any help. Katy

I'm trying to figure out where this person belongs in my family tree-I was given the information by Swedish relatives, but not sure how/where she fits in. BENGT JONSSON (B:10/1/1777 in Torpakra, D:1847) married to 1st wife BENGTA LARSDOTTER (B:1779 D:1825) and had 5 children, BENGT's 2nd wife is SISSELA PERSDOTTER (B:1792 D:1879) & they also had 5 children together. Here is the quoted text from my relatives that I cannot figure out: CICELA PERSDOTTER was born 12/14/1823 in Torup. She was a foster daughter. In the church records from her baptism it is recorded that the maid KERSTINA PERSDOTTER gave birth to the illegitimate child CICELA (bapt. 12/21). Paul Andersons wife INGAR NILSDOTTER from Kampholma holl barnet. Test: Nils Andersson from Tranebygget, Bengt Nilsson from Attarp and Nils Persson from Bosarp. The maids Gunnel Christensdotter from Hakantorpsmolla and Sissela Persdotter from Hagahuset parish of Perstorp. The mother is 23 yrs old and claims the child was born in Torkelstorp Riseberga parish. end quote. Can anyone help me with figuring out any information on CICELA PERSDOTTER, foster daughter..etc Thank you.

Thank you Ivar. Does EMIBAS say anything about Axel's destination - I assume it was New York, but not sure. Or if he was traveling with anyone? I'm not quite sure how he ended up in Indiana or how he and Carolina met after she arrived in America. It seems Axel had other family that emigrated to America around 1883 - his uncle Nils Bengtsson (B:7/11/1829) and Nil's son Elof, along with Nils brother in law Per Palsson and Per's wife and daughter - they all went to Swedish settlements around Minnesota. So I'm not sure if Axel first went to Minnesota and then to Indiana etc.. or where he may have met Carolina at.

I'm looking for any information on my gg grandmother, KARNA ANDERSDOTTER born in Sweden. She was married to OLOF BENGTSSON (B: 7/19/1837 D: 4/22/1923) they were married on 12/30/1864, I believe. They had 8 children: MATILDA 2/22/1865-1946, ELOF 1/10/1867, AXEL 4/16/1869, OSKAR 5/12/1871, ALFHILDA 6/12/1873-6/17/1964, HILDA 9/30/1875, AMILON 7/30/1878, and AMANDA 5/27/1880-1/22/1969. I would like to know her date of birth, place of birth and her parents if possible. I have been told that her date of death is 10/18/1918, but I am not positive about that. (At some point, OLOF lived in Hissmossa, and OLOF's father Bengt Jonsson was born in Torpakra,& later lived in Hugosberg- but that is as much as I can tell you about an area to look around.) Thank you for any help that you can give me.

I am looking for the date that my great grandfather emigrated to America from Sweden. I'm not sure what part of Sweden he was born in, but his name is AXEL OLSSON (changed when he came to America) originally would have been OLOFSSON - his date of birth is April 16, 1869 and his parents are OLOF BENGTSSON (B:7/19/1837 D:4/22/1923) and KARNA ANDERSDOTTER. Olof and Karna married on 12/30/1864 and they had 6 children: Matilda 2/22/1865-1946, Elof 1/10/1867, Axel 4/16/1869, Oskar 5/12/1871, Alfhilda 6/12/1873-6/17/1964, and Hilda 9/30/1875. (The only thing I know about location is that at some point, OLOF lived in Hissmossa, if that helps) I also would like any information on AXEL's wife CAROLINE (I think her last name was Nilsson) she was born 1/10/1875 and was from Onslunda Skane. They both left Sweden for America (at different times) and ended up in Indiana, where they both died. Its possible Axel's year of immigration was 1887, but I'm not positive. Caroline's may have been 1892? Any information on AXEL, CAROLINE and also KARNA (ANDERSDOTTER) would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
