Birger Jarl undoubtedly had daughter or daughters with his wife Ingeborg: at least I have believed that Rikissa, who firstly married Norway's young co-king Haakon and afterwards married a Fuerst of Werle, has existed and actually left descendants from her second marriage.
But some other women are alo in some genealogies included as daughters of Birger Jarl, and even born of his marriage with Ingeborg:
1. a Katarina, who has been recorded as wife of Siegfried I of Anhalt-Zerbst (died c 1298). And was mother of Albrecht I of Anhalt-Zerbst (died 1316)
2 an Ingeborg, who is variably allotted as daughter of Birger or daughter of Eric XI (Erik enläspe och halte) aand who married duke of Lauenburg.
I am not yet aware of any Swedish primary source (or even any Swedish folklore) that Katarina, or Ingeborg, had been Birger Jarl's daughters. Does there exist any such sources?
Doed anyone know what are, exactly, contents of the other (presumably German) sources that say something about these ladies? Are they mentioned as Swedes there? whose daughters?
Are there any reliable references (clear primary sources) of their paternities, anywhere in the world?
Which of those sources are from Germany, which are actually from Sweden?
Are those paternities anything more than just hopeful guesses?
How probable is that these ladies actually were Swedes? Is any other Scandinavian origin (than from Sweden) probable, in any of those cases?
Does these women show any presence in Swedish sources of that time or a little later? In archives, or just in any chronicles or folklore?
Are there any signs what these ladies inherited in Sweden/ in Scandinavia? any Nordic landed property going to one of them or to her issue?
How accepted are the said (hypothetized) paternities of these, for example compared with generally accepted links of ÄSF?
Which articles/ researchers have addressed these questions of paternity?
