Ursäkta att jag skriver på engelska.
It looks like this side of the gravestone was originally engraved for someone with whose surname began with the letter G. This is a common decoration, and in the background you can see that the Johnson gravestone has a J at the top.
On the Okerberg stone it also looks to me like there was originally raised lettering below the G that was removed at some point.
Curiously, Find-a-Grave lists Hilda's memorial but not Lars's, so I cannot see what is on the other side of the memorial. If would be interesting to see if it is in the same style as the reverse. I hope the Okerberg family got a good discount on the gravestone.

Thanks, Marcus. I could read löf but had a hard time convincing myself that leaves could have killed poor Anders. Lövlass makes sense. When I google that word, I get three images of semi-trailers full of logs. Logs would definitely do the trick.
If you are looking for unusual causes of death, there is a similar entry on the same page that I cannot read. It's for Lars Larsson (not related) on March 13. Snö this time?

It's been a long time, but every once in a while I would chip away at this one, and for the record, here's what I found about the placement of the orphaned children. With a lot of the words filled in, and the foster parents identified, maybe someone can fill in the rest. I also include a more legible image.

“Olof” was Olof Vallström (b 15 May 1758), a tenant farmer (torpare). [Öglunda husförhörslängd 1786-92, p 21 (Sandgraf)]

Line 2 (Anders, age 10) Når Skomak. Jan på Ingelstorp ... i Wättlösa
“Skomak. Jan” was Jan Larsson, a tenant farmer at Ingelstorp in Vättlösa. He must also have been a shoemaker. He and his wife appear in the tax rolls from 1792 to 1797. [Skaraborg tax records (landskontor version), p 1287]
A Jan Larsson died in Vättlösa Parish at Anders Bengtsgården on 24 Feb 1801, leaving a widow named Ebba Ullricksdotter. [Kinne härad probate 1801-04, p 233] It is unclear whether it is the same Jan Larsson.

“Torpare Lars Larsson” is not found in the tax records at Lilla Bjurum in 1792 (the only year that lists surnames and patronymics), but he may be recorded elsewhere in the parish. Heading the Lilla Bjurum estate until 1793 was Ryttmästare Arfvid Gabriel Strömhielm (b 2 Dec 1743). [Skaraborgs län tax, 1790, p 1092 (Vättlösa)] Lilla Bjurum was later owned by Harald Georg Fleetwood, son of Metta Reenstierna.

About three years ago I posted an item from the Lerdala husförhörslängder that defied my transcription skills. It had to do with five orphans, including my ancestor, and where they were sent after their father’s death in 1790. link: https://forum.rotter.se/index.php?topic=173908.msg1566164#msg1566164I sat down with it again last week and was finally able to make sense of it. Now I've been able to trace the lives of all the children but one. Her name was Maria Pehrsdotter (or Pettersdotter), born 31 Jan 1784 in Lerdala (annex to Berg). After she was orphaned at age six she was sent to live at the nearby manor, Sparresäter, where she was listed as a flicka (not dotter or piga) in the family of Friherrinna Metta Reenstierna. link: https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0051411_00018#?c=&m=&s=&cv=17&xywh=547%2C2194%2C3052%2C1327 In the next HFL, Maria was recorded as moving to Åsarp socken in 1798. But now there is also some sexier stuff: Exactly how much currency did Johan Lundeberg have to forge to get the death penalty? Was he actually executed? Where and when? I don't know how to research this. Looking for clues and ideas. Thanks.

The light finally dawned on me. The names of the parents given in Rangela's death record are wrong. Her father was Sven Hermansson.
Oddly enough, I had originally recorded her father as Sven Hermansson after finding a suitable baptismal record for Rangela. It was only much later, when reviewing the evidence in my tree, that I realized her death record definitely said Sven Asmundsson. That's when the fun began.
In tracing this new Sven, nothing really matched up with Rangela or the brothers I knew were hers. This probate record was the latest example. Today, while going over my notes and spreadsheets for the umpteenth time, I realized that *everything* about Sven Hermansson's family matched up with what I now know about Rangela's family, except his name. Obviously the information on any death record needs to be taken with grain of salt, but this is the first time I've run into this issue with a Swedish record, which I've found to be very accurate.
Long story short -- Asmundsson is out, Hermansson is back in, and I can move on.

Many thanks to Kalle for the transcription and to both of you for your help in translating the text.
Sven and Anna were well beyond child-bearing age when they married. I am fairly certain now that "senare giftet" must be interpreted as "the latter's marriage", Anna's first marriage, and "forra giftet" must mean "the former's marriage", meaning Sven's previous marriage. I can confirm that he had daughters Karin and Kirsten with another wife (also named Anna).
The frustrating part is that what I am actually concerned with is my ancestor Rangela and her two brothers Lars and Sven, who were children of Sven Asmundsson, though perhaps not this one. None of them is mentioned in the probate. They were all still alive and living in the Mellby Parish when this Sven died, and there is plenty of room on the timeline for them to have come from a marriage even before the two Annas.
So I keep looking...
UPDATE: Jörgen added a reply before I finished. Thank you for deciphering Skofteby Parish! I spent considerable time last night trying to figure that one out (and failed). I'll let you all know if I ever solve the mystery.

Undoubtedly true. I was thrown off because the Latin word does not appear in other notations on the page, and some of those notations include the place name before the date. Also, that N really does look like a W, though not like the other Ws on the page.
For what it's worth, I later realized that "Nata", being the feminine form, had to refer to Christian's wife on the next line. Checking other pages I found that the birth dates of males were generally noted with "Nat:" (rather than "Natus").
So...back to Halland. Is it the län, or a local place name?

OK, this one might be a little more difficult. Christian Hörquist was a husar representing Råga Hörstad in Asmundtorp socken (Skåne). In most of the Asmundtorp clerical surveys in which Christian appears, his birth date is listed as 1/3 1784, with birth place "Halland". Just Halland. However, in his very first appearance in the church books, in 1808-11, a notation in the right-hand column says "Wata[?] 1784. d: 1. Jan:" Any thoughts on where this might be? Was he really from Halland? I do not know Christian's patronymic, sadly. Thanks very much, Kalle. I'm glad to see I was pretty close. With your confirmation I finally understand "avlatt" (although the meaning was obvious in context). And I took the time to figure out that "2:ne", which I've seen often, stands for "tvenne". That was vexing me.

Here is a nice obituary found in the burial record of Hanna Pehrsdotter in Södra Rörum, Dec 2 1802, page 218-19. I've worked out a lot of the words but could use some help. I imagine there could be some odd spellings or skånska words I'm not familiar with. Thanks very much.

Just following up, and much to my surprise, I was able to resolve the Jon/Håkan discrepancy. Looking through the mantalslängder for Kärret, I found Jon Rafvelsson at the property as far back as 1724. The previous resident was Håkan Johansson, that is until 1723, when the occupant was listed as "Håkans enka". Now if she only had a name!

If I interpret your reading correctly, Anders Moberg is a son-in-law of the unidentified wife of the deceased. And if Estrin Jonsdotter is married to Anders, that should make her a daughter of the unidentified wife. And that should make her first husband's name Jon.
Sadly, in another household inventory following the death of the same Anders Moberg, she is listed as Estrin Håkansdotter. So, not much progress, but learning a lot about reading these documents.

Have you ever run across a household inventory that left out that detail (assuming there was one)? I'm new to posting — I hope two in a week is OK. The handwriting is easier to read on this one. I have a few words I cannot decipher, but mainly I have a question about what the text actually means.
Here is my reading of the text (? = letters in indecipherable words):

The words I typed in all caps sure look like "min" and "mina" but make no sense to me in the context of a bouppteckning preamble.
So, I need some help on the transcription, but I also have a question about the bold text:
It reads to me as if Maria was present at the inventory, but there was an additional person (Biurvall) representing Maria's interest regarding a child from a previous marriage, and another person (Helgeson) representing the remaining children of a previous marriage. But as long as Maria is alive, her children should not be heirs to the estate, so why would they need representation? I am obviously missing something here.

Stretching the image improved the legibility a little bit. The backstory: Petter Andersson died, leaving five young children as orphans. I think the notation may be about their disposition. I think the word at the end of the 2nd line is Wättlösa, the neighboring parish. It also appears in line 6. Thanks for any advice you can give.
