Thanks for your input and review of this question.  Also thanks to Karl Göran Eriksson.

Thanks for your information.  Yes, I agree - the letter is "n".

Thanks very much for your translation.  Sometime after I posted this request, I found out that this "Jön Persson" was not my 7th great grandfather.  My 7th great grandfather was Jöns Pålsson who had died in 1785 and was also from Säter in Överhogdal parish.

In your translation, you indicated three words that you couldn't make out.  I had received another translation from a Facebook group (Swedish American Genealogy), and it appears that the words are related to ""braf pengar, men ?rätt?/that word is hopeless/ intet graföl till tacksamhetstecken" as the translator had writtern.  The meaning is possibly "there was no grave feast held" or that there was "no grave beer"

Hi.  My 7th great grandfather was Jöns Pürsson (Persson).  He died on 17 Aug 1758 at the age of 79.  His death/burial record is noted in Överhogal volume C:1, 1681-1861, Arkivdigital collection:  Överhogdal (Z) C:1 (1691-1861) Image 1040 / Page 197.  There are a number of comments, but I can only make out a few of the words - they start at the bottom of the first side and continue to the top of the second side.

Any help is very much appreciated.  Thanks.  Rueben

Thank you so much, Bertil! :)  I am very appreciative.  Many entries in the Färila parish death records provide additional details.  Unfortunately, I am not able to make out most of the details.  Thanks again for your response.  Rueben

Thanks, Leif.  I appreciate your confirmation.  Can you read any of the other comments?  Rueben

Hi. I am hoping someone will be able to help me understand this record. The scanned image is from Färila parish in Gävleborg and records some additional information on Karin Michelsdotter death. The record is from Archivdigtal, Färila (X) HVIa:2 (1734-1768) Image 77 / Page 148 (first entry on the left side). I am having difficulty with the names of her parents. I believe they are Michel Michelsson and Brita Matsdotter from the farm Kårböleskog.

Karin Michelsdotter was the sister to my 7th great grandfather (Michel Michelsson, 1672-1724). The death records of other siblings do not record the name of the parents, although one records the father as Michel Michelsson.

I have attached a picture of the entry. I realize that the handwriting is difficult to read. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Rueben Grue

Hi to Leif_lundkvist and Harold Nordius.  Thanks so much for your replies.  Leif:  thanks for the translation - it now makes sense to me.

Kårböleskog is the home farm of my ancestors.  It is about 10 kms south of the village of Kårbole or about 22 kms north of the village of Los, Gåvleborg county.

When I was reviewing the burial record, I could not make out the reference to 12 years - this now makes sense that he had been sick for 12 years.  It also makes sense that he would have been buried in Kårböle where there was a chapel (in some of the records I have seen the spelling as Kårböln, but of course it is hard to make out the handwriting).  Thanks again to both of you.

The first image (from the 1695 Mantalsländger for Färila parish) is referencing the same Michel Michelsson (I think).  I'm not sure of the meaning of the comment on the far right hand side, but I think it starts off with something like "... moved to Kårböle ..." but the rest I'm not sure.

If either of you have any ideas, or if anybody else can make anything out, I would be appreciative.  Rueben Grue

Sorry.  I made a mistake on the attachment.  The above attachment is from Riksarkivet collection, Mantalslängder Västernorrlands (Gävleborgs) län 1654-1820, year 1695.  Reference:  SE/RA/55203/55203.26/24.  Bild 159 / Sida 1561 (2nd side).  I can't make out the comments on the left side of the page.  Any help would be great.

The following attachment is the burial record for my 7th great-grandfather.

Thanks, Rueben

Hi.  Any assistance with understanding the attached death record is appreciated.  The attached record is from the Archivdigital.net collection:  Färila (X) EI:1 (1711-1769) Image: 39 Page: 45 and is the burial record for my 7th great-grandfather.

Hi.  Thanks for your reply.  This is the "Olof Olofsson Stålhammar" born before 1630 that I am interested in.  I thought it would be worth checking if any more information on him.  Thanks again.  Rueben

I am wondering if you have any more information on the "smed Olof Olofsson Stålhammar i Söderhamn..."  I have looked through many of the posts on Anbytarforum and have found very little, other than a couple of posts by Torbjörn Näs in 1999 and 2000.

Any informaion of this specific "smed Olof Olofsson Stålhammar i Söderhamn..." will be helpful in researching my Swedish ancestors.  Tack.
