Thank you for that help with Jon!  I really need help with translating all of  Trönö Parish, Gävleborg County C:1 pages 77 and 78.  If anyone else can help I would greatly appreciate it!

Hello!  I have found a record of my ancestor, Nils Nilsson, that I can tell has a lot of information, but I cannot translate it.  It is found in Trönö Parish, Gävleborg County, Sweden.  In Arkivdigtal it is found in C:1 page 77 and 78. Here is a link through familysearch.org:  https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HT-6FW7-JN?i=49&wc=QDYT-FRJ%3A259828801%2C260240501%2C260829601&cc=1978770

If you could help me with names, birthdates, marriage dates, and death dates I would be very appreciative.  I know there is a lot of information there, so I appreciate your time.  Sincerely, Joan Foote

I am having a very difficult time translating this death record which I believe is for Nils Hansson (Hasselbom?) born 10 January 1714 in Hassela Parish, Gävleborg County, Sweden.  It can be found in Arkivdigital: Hassela Parish C2 1706-1774  year 1768 page 232 the second entry on the page, Nils.  thank you so much for your help!!!

Thank you so very much!  Your translation was very interesting and helpful.  myheritage.com had her married to O. Kack, but his death biographie does not list Anna Stina as a wife and your translation seems to confirm this information.

I have an ancestor who had an illegitimate child and there seems to be more information about this in the birth record, but I do not understand it.  It is found in ArkivDigital:  Hassela (X) C:3 (1775-1853) Image: 111 Page: 106

She is 13. Margareta born 11 May and christened 15 May.

I have a death record on her mother Anna Stina Norman, but it does not have any indication that she was ever married.  It looks like it has another woman after Anna Stina's name who is a widow.

If you can help me translate her birth record, I would really appreciate it!!  Thanks!!

Thank you all so much!!  I had a Swedish Household Examination record from 1779-1797 that listed her, but there were so many other people.  https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33S7-9TB5-9WDJ?i=37&cc=1978770
It was hard for me to figure out who her children were.  According to the death record you translated, she had three daughters which is what I kind of thought, but wasn't sure.  I have Karen in 1782, Giolin in 1785, and Golin 1789.  Giolin died in 1786 and the other two daughters were on the 1797-1804 Household Examination Record.
Swedish records are AMAZING!!!  I almost hate to work on American records because we only have a census every ten years and sometimes a state census on the five years in between. I have followed so many of my ancestors from birth to death in Sweden. Also, thank you for the tip about google translate.  I really appreciate all your help!!

I have found a death record of Malin Olofsdotter which appears to have a lot of information, but I can't read Swedish.  Here is the web page in ArkivDigital: https://app.arkivdigital.se/volume/v123701?image=56 and here is the reference of that same page: Hassela (X) F:1 (1775-1861) Image: 56.

She is entry number 3.  I would appreciate a word by word translation because then maybe I can learn to read these records myself.  I know it will not sound right in English, but I can still understand the information.

Thank you so much for your help!  I could not get as much information about my relatives without you!!  Joan

I was able to trace my ancestor, Agnes Margareta Östling Ljungqvist to the Moving In records for  Västerås Domkyrkoförsamling, in ArkivDigital: Västerås Domkyrkoförsamling (U) BI:11 (1941-1946) Image: 200 Page: 30.  She is entry 711. But, when I try to find the Congregation records that seem to be referred to, I cannot find them.  I have an ArkivDigital subscription, so if you can find this family (husband Sven, wife Agnes, daughter Karin, and son Carl) and could give me the Arkivdigital reference, I can look it up. Thank you so much for your help!! Joan

General questions / Leprosy Mystery?
« skrivet: 2019-02-22, 22:03 »
It appears my great great aunt Karin or Katrina Ericsdotter or Ersdotter born 17 May 1813 in Hassela Parish, Gavleborg County, Sweden (Household Records say she was born in Ilbso Parish, but it is really Hassela Parish) was married to Sven Rost and he died in 1874.  It looks to me like he died from leprosy (spetalska) and then in 1877 Katrina stops appearing on the Household Examination Record and there is a comment that I cannot understand.  Attached is a picture of what is said.  It can be found in ArkivDigital:  Harmånger (X) AI:15 (1873-1882) Image: 32 Page: 27

If anyone could help me figure out what happened to Katrina(also known as Karin) Ersdotter.  I would greatly appreciate it!

Can anyone translate this death record?  It is found in ArkivDigital Hassela (X) F:1 (1775-1861) Image: 7 which are the death records for Hassela Parish, Gavleborg County, Sweden.  The year is 1777 and it is 2. Karin

Thanks!!! Joan

Thank you so much!!!  This service is so helpful to me since I don't speak Swedish!  I am learning some of the basic genealogy terms, but was lost on this one.  The explanation of the names was very helpful too!!  Have a wonderful day!!

The image is found in ArkiDigital records A I Husförhörslängder 1836-1845 Bergsjo Parish, Gavleborg County, Sweden  page 103

Can you help translate the notes to the right on Pehr Frogd?  Also, he is born Pehr to Jonas Gahn on 25 June 1815, but in 1825 on the Swedish Household Examination record it changes to 25 February or March 1815, but then changes back later.  In 1833 he becomes a Soldat (soldier, right?) but his name is Pehr Jonsson Frogd (Gahn).  After that date, he is known as only Pehr Frogd.  Do you have any ideas why this happeded?

It's me again :)  I found this in Hudiksvalls AI:17c image 33  My great grandfather is listed as PE Norell. I don't know what the word that looks like it starts with an E stands for.  There is also a number which I think is an entry number.  I looked in the moving out list, but like you said he is not listed there.  Do you have any ideas?  Smiles, Joan

I am following my great grandfather, Pehr Erik Norell born 25 June 1843 Bergsjo Parish, Gavleborg County, Sweden.  He said he came to America on 15 August 1867.  I have followed him from Bergsjo to Halsingtuna, to Hudiksvall, but when he left Hudiksvall I can't find the place they said he moved to.  It is found on ArkivDigital Hudiksvall A I: 17b 1861-1871 page 215.  I attached a picture of just the name. Hope you can help!  I feel I'm so close!  Thanks!
