I am sorry you were not able to e-mail us. Did you try both of us? We have both been getting e-mails regularly, right up until today. Be sure to use 2 ms  in the first 'comm' in each e-mail address?
I have children of Jan Petter and Anna Maja as:
Anna Caroline, born in Ludvika 29/11 1848;
Johan Petter, born in Ludvika 3/3 1850;
Augusta Maria, born in Ludvika 27/7 1853;
Stina Lisa (Christine Elisabeth), born in Ludvika 8/11 1855;
Selma Lovisa, born in Ludvika 7/4 1862.
Also perhaps a son Carl Oscar, born in Ludvika 1858 and died in Ludvika 27/10 1860. Lorna says she thinks at least one child did not emigrate from Sweden, she did not have a record of who, but someone has e-mailed that Carl Oscar was also in this family.

Thank you for your response, and I hope you will try e-mailing again!

Hi Jan,

Thank you for your reply. The birth dates are a little different...but the birth years are the same. Did your Jan Peter and Anna Maja have a daughter Christina Elisabeth? In your ancestry, did that family Jan Peter and Anna Maja and all their children emigrate from Sweden to America? I am sorry Lorna does not have information about Christina's grandparents, but if the information above about her brothers and sisters and parents is the same, please let us know. Thank you!

Lorna is now looking for descendants of her grandmother Christina's (Stina Lisa) parents. Christina's father was Jan Petter Strandell, born in Ludvika June 17, 1825. Her mother was Anna Maja Jansdotter, born in Ludvika May 24, 1818. Thank you for any help you can give us. You may e-mail Lorna privately at lornamc@polarcomm.com if you wish.

We might not have the correct birthdate for Jan Petter Strandell (born 1835?). Jan Petter and Anna Maja's children that we know of are: Anna Caroline (oldest child born October 29, 1848), Johann Petter, Augusta Maria, Christina Elisabeth (also known as Stina Lisa-this is Lorna's grandmother), and Selma Lovisa. Is there anyone who can tell us if there might be one more child that did not come to America with their parents (Jan Peter & Anna Maja)? Lorna believes there was one child that stayed in Sweden. Thank you.

Hi,
I am helping a friend Lorna Soderfelt from North Dakota USA, search for living relatives in Sweden. We had asked for help last year in finding a living descendant of Jan Peter Strandell, born Jun 17, 1835 in Ludvika and/or his wife Anna Maja Jansdotter born May 24, 1818 in Ludvika. They emigrated from Sweden to America May 6, 1878 from Bjornberget Enkulle, Ludvika, Kopparbergs Ian (Dalarna) to Nordamerika. Jan & Anna Maja's daughter Christina (Lorna's grandmother) emigrated to America, and from information given to us last year on this website, Christina and all her siblings came to America. So our question is...can anyone help us find living descendants in Sweden, of Jan's and/or Anna Maja's brothers and sisters? It is a little farther out in the relationship, but Lorna would really like to find at least one living relative to this couple. Thank you

If you prefer, you may e-mail Lorna directly at lormamc@polarcomm.com

Hi again,

Another big thank you to all of you who helped Lorna find her living relatives, and for all the family history information (both current and back to the 1600's)...she now has two families of living relatives that are descendants of the two sons of Gustav and Carolina Gabrielson, who live in Sweden. It is so awesome to have so many people willing to help...and to get replies from you so quickly! Blessings to all of you :-)

Hi Gertrud,
Thank you again for your help! Lorna just e-mailed me that you had sent her more information. She now has information about both of Gustav & Carolina's sons that stayed in Sweden. I can't tell you and the others who have been helping, how excited and thankful Lorna is, for all your help!
Thank you, thank you, thank you to all!

Hi Gertud,

Thank you for searching for us! We are anxious to find out if you have found any living relatives.

Thank you also to the others who have e-mailed Lorna privately: for giving her the name of a living relative (it seems...so far...there is only one living, with no further descendants). She has also received family history information about Gustav & Carolina, and their children (such as birth dates, emigration dates, and places of birth), and also information about the ancestors of her grandparents Gustav Gabrielson & Carolina Örlander, going back to the 1600's. We thank you all so very much. You are a great group, and so very helpful!

Hi,

I have a friend Lorna Soderfelt from North Dakota, USA, who is looking for living Gabrielson relatives in Sweden. I hope we are posting this in the proper place. If not, please let us know. Here is Lorna's family that came to America, but we understand there were two sons who stayed in Sweden:

Father: Gustav (Pehr)Gabrielson, birth date on gravestone 1830
Mother: Caroline Onander, birthdate on gravestone 1845
Son: Adolf Gabrielson, born 18 May 1873 Sweden
Son: Fredolph
Daughter: Anna
Daughter: Caroline (Lena), born 1866? or 1872?
Daughter: Clara, born 11 June 1882 Sweden
Son: Alfred, born 1880
Son: Carl...stayed in Sweden

Note: Adolf and Clara are the only ones that we have birth dates for, taken from their death certificates.

Someone has done some research in Swedish records for us, and we believe this is the family that came to America:

father Nils Gustaf Gabrielsson; born 9 October 1831 in Ryssby, Kronoberg County.
wife Caroline; born 31 May 1846 in Lumelunda?
son Carl Johan; born 4 May 1872 in Wisby (Visby)
son Gustaf Adolf; born 9 May 1873 in Lumelunda
son Oscar Fridolf; born 24 June 1876 in Westkinde (Vaskinde)
daughter Anna Cathrina Henrietta; born 25 March? 1866 in Lumelunda
daughter Hilma Carolina; born 17? April? 1868 in Lumelunda
daughter Clara Mathilda; born 11 June 1879 in Vaskinde
son Nils Peter Alfred, born 26 July 1881 in Vastkinde

This family settled in Northeastern Minnesota. If there is someone who can help us, you may reply here, or to Lorna directly at her e-mail: lornamc@polarcomm.com

Thank you.

Someone has responded to us privately, and is working on finding living relatives to Johan Axel Eriksson Berg, born Hork Parish Feb 06, 1896 and died 1974.

Lorna would also like to find out if she has any living relatives on another line in her family...the Strandells. Lorna's grandmother Christina Elisabeth Strandell (also known as Stina Lisa Strandell) was born Nov 08, 1855 in Ludvika, Kopparbergs Ian (Dalarna). She was married to Eric Soderfelt July 21, 1876. It appears that Christina, Eric and all their children emigrated to America. Can someone help us find any living descendants (still living in Sweden) of Christina Elisabeth's siblings? Thank you.

To Arne and anyone else who can help us,
Someone is e-mailing Lorna and I privately, about descendants of Johan Axel Eriksson Berg. We are waiting to hear if that person will be able to find living descendants on that line.

We are interesting in finding out if there are living relatives of the siblings of Per Erik and Stina Lisa, as it appears Per Erik' and Stina Lisa's children all emigrated to America.

If anyone could help us with this, we would appreciate it very much. Thank you.

I am helping a friend, Lorna Soderfelt McFarland from North Dakota, USA, look for living relatives in Sweden. We have received some help in the Discussions in English section. They have been very helpful in giving information about her ancestors. Lorna's paternal grandfather Per Erik Soderfelt Persson, born July 01, 1851 in Lujusnarsberg. In l876 his residence moved to Ludvika. He emigrated to America May 05, 1879 from Bjornberget Enkulle, Ludvika. We are looking for descendants of Erik's siblings. It appears that the most likely one with descendants still living in Sweden is his sister Augusta Persdotter, born July 01, 1839 (still living in 1900 in Ljusnarsberg). She had a son Johan August Eriksson, who was born March 17, 1866 in Vasterås, he died 1949; Johan married Lovisa Ulrika Karlsson, born 1864, died 1935. Their child Johan Axel Eriksson Berg, born Hork Parish Feb 06, 1896 and died 1974. Johan married Anna Linnea Hellkvist, born Apr 23, 1901 and died 1966. Is there someone who can help us find out if there are any living descendants of this family in Sweden? If so, please let us know. Lorna would like to correspond with a living relative, if possible. If it is not appropriate to place living contacts on this forum, you may contact one of us directly at one of the e-mail addresses below. Thank you.

Thank you for the correction about Christina and Stina Lisa. I should have noticed their birth dates and realized it! Also thank you for information about Per Erik's side of Lorna's family. Question...Could Johan August Eriksson's children have a different mother, or Lovisa's birth date be different than 1884? Her child Garda Augusta's birth date is listed as 1894. Another question...Is there somewhere else we should go, to try to find Johan Axel Eriksson Berg's living descendants in Sweden? And, yes, we would be interested in finding descendants in Sweden, for siblings of Per Erik's and Stina Lisa's parents. Thank you so much for all you are helping us! If living relatives would like to contact Lorna directly, her e-mail address is: lornamc@polarcomm.com

Hi,
Thank you for all the information you have given us so far, on the Strandell family. It appears that the only sibling of Christina Elisabeth Strandell that did not emigrate to America was Stina Lisa, born Nov 08,1855. Is there any way anyone can help us find out if she has living descendants in Sweden? Thank you.
