Clarification of the Question Above:

The reason for choosing Holm parish when researching Gust Peterson (Holmgren surname in the passenger list) is the fact that my one set of great grandparents came from Ljung parish in the late 1860s.  Their Swedish surname at the time of emigration was Persson.  When they arrived in the United States they chose Ljungren as their new surname.  Our family understands that Ljungren when literally translated would mean branch of Ljung parish. Therefore, although the chances are slim, I thought that maybe Gust Peterson (b. 2 November 1841)may have chosen Holmgren or the person recording his information misunderstood his responses at the time.

I hope this helps clarify my thinking to the potential researcher.

Thank you in advance for your help.
