STICKNEY, Margaret Lillian (Kellerman)
 
Margaret Lillian (Kellerman) Stickney, aged 86 years, of Middleboro, MA, formerly of New Britain, died on Monday, (June 25, 2007) at her home, after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of 56 years, of the late George D. Stickney, who predeceased her in October of 2005. Born in New Britain, September 17, 1920, she was the daughter of the late John F. and Hulda (Hallerstrom) Kellerman. She was a graduate of New Britain High School, class of 1938. She joined the United States Army Nurse Corps. in 1944, and graduated from New Britain General Hospital School of Nursing, after World War II had ended. While living in New Britain, she was an active member of the First Lutheran Church, co-chaired the PTA at Stanley School, and was an active Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader. She and her husband served as worthy Matron and Patron of the Plainville Order of the Eastern Star, in Plainville. After they moved to Litchfield, she was a visiting nurse for Maria Seymour Brooker Memorial in Torrington until her retirement. She and her husband moved to Middleboro in 1983, where she was a member of the Central United Methodist Church, and it's Women's Society. She enjoyed reading, gardening, traveling, and for 20 years, she volunteered at the Gebbie Archives at Wheaton College in Norton, MA. She will be fondly remembered as a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and constant care-giver. She is survived by one son; George D. Stickney Jr. of Brentwood, TN, and one daughter; Zephorene L. Stickney of Middleboro, several nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services will be held at the Egger Funeral Home, 61 Pearl St. Middleboro, on Thursday, June 28, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be from 10-11 a.m., on Thursday morning. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to: The Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, Brookline, MA 02445-7226, would be appreciated.
