Naturalization records after the end of 1906 are quite informative but before that time, the information provided in those records varied greatly, depending upon where the person naturalized. Carl Wolf was lucky. You may or may not be. Records such as these in Chicago told that the person was Swedish, which we already knew. They weren't informative until the end of 1906 and later. After that, they were very informative.
Many of us have found a parish of birth and much more by using an archive called the Swenson Swedish Immigration Research Center. The Swenson Center has a website (Google it.) but its extensive collection of records is NOT online. We need to go there to research or pay them to research for us. They have records which are difficult or even impossible to find elsewhere. Many of us have been helped there.
