I find the following on Google (but with broken link) : It was Jack's favorite image of himself, personally commissioned from noted American artist & illustrator Erik H. Sederling, and completed in 1945. Dempsey was so pleased he hung it prominently at the entrance of his pride & joy, Jack Dempsey's Broadway Restaurant
