DR. JULIUS J. TEGELBERG
WORCESTER -- Dr. Julius J. Tegelberg, 99, of 70 Briarwood Circle, formerly of Hancock Hill Drive, died Friday, June 30, at Worcester Medical Center.  
 
His wife, Grace L. (Bergstrom) Tegelberg, died in 1991. He leaves a cousin, Nancy Lutton of Schenectady, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews. He was born in Mead, Neb., son of Carl L. and Anna C. (Quist) Tegelberg, and lived in Worcester for 75 years. He graduated from Boston University School of Medicine in 1927. He interned at Worcester City Hospital from 1927 to 1929, and served his residency at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston from 1929 to 1931. He served in the Marine Corps from 1942 to 1946.  
 
Dr. Tegelberg was in private practice in Worcester from 1931 to 1978. He served on the staffs of Worcester City Hospital, Fairlawn Hospital, and Hahnemann Hospital. He was a consultant at the Worcester State Hospital, Belmont Hospital, Worcester County Sanitarium, Rutland State Hospital, Rutland Veterans Hospital, and Fitchburg Hospital.  
 
He was a member of the American Medical Association, the Massachusetts Medical Society, the Worcester District Medical Society, and the New England Otolaryngological Society, and the American Academy of Head and Neck Surgery. He served as secretary of the Worcester Medical Society from 1941 to 1942 and from 1946 to 1948. He was the counselor of the Massachusetts Medical Society from 1946 to 1956. He was past president of the Worcester City Hospital staff and the Fairlawn Hospital staff.  
 
No funeral services or calling hours are planned. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Worcester District Medical Society, Scholarship Fund, 321 Main St., Worcester, MA 01608. Nordgren Carrigan Mangsen Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St., is directing arrangements.
