If he was old enough to be in World War II, then there are some databases on Ancestry.com.
There are online phone books. This is one I found using a www.google.com search.

It is just about impossible to even suggest where to look without a name and without any idea of whether he was an infant in 1941 or a young adult or an elderly person or a person in the prime of life with a young family, and it is much harder to search for people in the U.S. than in Sweden. A post office box number and town and state. (and Alaska was at the most a territory in 1941, not a state, until the late 1950s or early 1960s; I remember reading about its statehood in school in our Weekly Reader children's newspaper.)
Perhaps you could post, with more information, on a forum for Alaska.
