Dag:I found information about Axel Bremberg in the local history book River Hills to Sand Hills a history of Pennant District published June 1984. Pennant is a small town in SW Sask.and Battrum is about 7 km. N.W. from there.They are both in the Rural Municipality Number 168. I will send you copies of the pictures and the articles if you will give me your mailing address. Send it to me by email. The book says that Axel was born in Svenljunja, and arrived in that area in 1912 straight from Sweden.When he first arrived he lived with Johnny Olinger just west of Penner, now Clifford Tonsaker's farm. He operated a pool hall in Battrum and then owned one in Pennant.He married Doris Swallow in April 1936 and they lived in Pennant. He must have died before 1984 but his wife was still alive when the book was written. There are good pictures of Battrum and a history of the town which mentions Axel.I have just got back from the University library with the book and have not read it in detail.
