Dag: Our library reference service said that the area where the homestead was called was called Norge. It was an unincorporated area not a village or a town. The nearest village seems to be Mankota. This is in the south west part of Sask. not far from the United States border.
I will now look for a local history of that area which contains histories of families, churches, schools etc of the towns and farm in the area. Most communities in Sask. wrote and published these about 20 years ago with funds from ther provincial government. I live in Calgary Alberta but used to live in Sask.We have many of these histories in our University library. The farmland is not very good around there so your relative may have moved. I have not been able to locate Battrum yet.Could it have another spelling?
