If you google Nanaimo murder 1909 Gus Carlson, a number of articles in papers from Los Angeles to Quesnel show up. No pictures though. Apparently Mrs. Carlson was having an affair with their lodger, William Holmes. Police arrested both, but Mrs. Carlson negotiated immunity for herself and accused Holmes. Holmes was put on trial and found not guilty and released.
