Thank You Thomas for the interesting story and facts. I conclude that these persons are really Egnell family rather than Ignell. The spelling of these names in North America differs a lot: Ignell, Egnell, Ingnell, Engnell, Egnel Ignel, Engell, Eignell, Enghnell etc why it can be quite confusing to do research on Ignell. I have Ignell relatives in Seattle, so it could have been some relation with this Maxime Ignell there.
Thanks Bo for your initiative. I was close to do the same i.e. contacting Anita and Per. I guess this would be of great interest for them. So far I have not detected any Ignell relation with the Egnell families in Sweden except for a not confirmed link to a 'länsman' Gustaf Ignell/Egnell, born around 1731 in 'Lerbäcks socken' (T)
