I am trying to find information about Johan Mårtensson and his parents. In one copy of the Household Examination Rolls I have found for him for Kall, Jamtland his birth date was listed as 1709. In one of the old Swedish books it was stated that he was born in Österbotten, Finland but I don't know which parish.
At some time or other Johan took the last name of Östberg, but I don't know if it was when he lived in Sweden, or if his parents in Finland had gone by the same last name.
Johan was found in Brunflo, Jamtland where he married Karin (Catharina) Svensdotter who in the same HES said she was born in 1700. They were married in Brunflo 01 November 1737, and their first son Marten Johansson Östberg was born 13 July 1740 in Rännön, Offerdal parish. Then they had twin daughters, Anna and Margreta, born 11 June 1743 in Kall parish. Johan and Karin both died in Sölsved, Kall, Johan 16 July 1787 and Karin 7 November 1752.
If anyone can help me find information about Johan Mårtensson's birth in Finland and his parents, I would be extremely happy since this is my major brick wall in my family research. Thank you.
