Svenska kyrkan, Nässja socken, Sweden, Kyrkoböcker, 1641-1896, Microfilm # 153248, 21 Apr 2004, Family History Library, 35 N. West Temple Street, Salt Lake City, UT 84150-3400. Note: Peter Rehn was listed under his real name Peter Larson, born 25 June 1780 in Orberga; he left Nässja in 1806 and moved to Rinna. He joined the military and was given the name of another soldier. Peter Larson became Peter Rehn.
Per Rehn and his wife were living at Rusthållet, Rinna Ägor. Anna Stina Gustafsdotter Lundberg was coming from the parish of Hov on February, 9 1807 and Per Rehn was coming från Örberga parish in 1806. In the marriage records for Hov for the year 1807 I finally found the information that they got married there on April, 13 1807 (Hov C:4 page 141). She was born 1786 either if Hov or Rinna, Oestergöland, Sweden. Aktnummer: AL-07-0064-1806 Rehn, Peter ( Petter )
The soldier before him was Jonas Rehn, born 1776 in V Skrukeby. Jonas Rehn became a war captive in France 1806 and therefore another soldier, Per Rehn, took his place. Jonas Rehn came back and was replaced as a soldier for no 107 Rinna, so Per Rehn must have moved to another place. Peter Rehn came back from France. It was noted that Peter Rehn was 5 foot and 5 inch tall and therefore was too short and had to leave his service in Jonas Rehn’s favour. Peter Rehn probably participated in the war against Russia in 1808-1809 when Sweden lost Finland.
There wasn’t any reference to any archive about this Peter Rehn, born 1780, but the act number (aktnummer) SR-00- 0670 tells you that the soldier served for Södermanlands Regiment (the regiment in Södermanland north of Östergötland). The border to Södermanland is not far from Rinna so it could be your Petter Rehn if he served for another regiment before Första Livgrenadiär Regiment. If you would like to find out if there is more information about this Peter Rehn I recommend you to mail to Garnisionsmuseum in Skövde who is responsible for the register and the site. Your reference for the soldier should be SR-00-0670…….
Peter served until 1824. Sweden was in war with Napoleon (1806), Russia (1808-09), Napoleon again (1812-13) together with the European allied states and against Norway (1813-1814). Peter probably took part in all those wars. He retired in 1824, the reason was age and illness.
