Hi again Roni. I can’t write English very well but I will try
I didn’t wrote Samuel’s occupation because I didn’t know what it was meant. First I thought it was Överste = Colonel but then I saw it wasn’t so. It says Överskärare. I haven’t heard that word before. Now I have found out that he was working in a factory. There was a textile industry in Norrköping. First he is called ‘Överskärar gesäll’ and I guess I can translate ‘gesäll’ to journeyman or trainee. Then after some years he was called ‘Överskärar mästare’ = master of his occupation.
‘Överskärare’ was, if I have understand it right, a man who cut the wool so that the textile should be smooth.
Johanna’s father was called ‘daglönare’. As I have been told they didn’t have a permanent work. They worked where they could find a job at the time. (day labourer?)
Maybe someone else can explain this better than me.
