David, the mother was not always mentioned in the books during the old days, unfortunately. It does not mean anything special.
By my comment I tried to translate Klåckare to the English word Sexton or Church caretaker, I am not sure what is right. A modern spelling in Swedish is Klockare. The name Klåckare does not necassarily say that this was his real last name, but Pehr was surely known in the parish by this name.
