Kindly pardon my english: Can someone tell me the historical signifance of the name Levene. I am studying the surname Levene/Levin/Levine. I've heard it is a military name. Does this mean soldiers came from Levene parish? I would also like to know the proper Swedish pronunciation. I know Lavin is prounced the same as sayiong the word ravine (a deep gorge) in english, only replacing the letter r with the letter L.
