Kerstin,
I hate to be a bother, but could you possibly look in the birth records for the rural (this time) parish of Hjo and see if I possibly missed him in the clerical survey? I tried to be careful, but, you never know, I may have missed the entry - especially without a last name!
Again, thanks for your help, and thanks to all the wonderful people who help us research our Swedish ancestors across the big pond!
