Short description: Already during the 1200s there was a wooden church on this place. The baptismal font is from that time. On Midsummer's Day in 1769 the present church was inaugurated by the vicar (parish priest) Hans Gaedda.
The church was first mentioned in 1372, but the vicarage already in 1340 when Saint Birgitta stayed overnight on a journey beteween Halland and Vadstena.
