My great grandfather, Peter Gustav Melin, born Dec. 8, 1819 married Sophia HaakensDatter, born May 30, 1830, on July 16, 1851. They had the following children: Hedvig Albertina, born April 2, 1853 Johan Adolph, born July 10, 1855 Augusta Bernhardina, born Sept. 16, 1857 Gustaf Richardt, born March 7, 1861 and died in May 30, 1863 Anna Severine, born Sept. 14, 1865 Sophia died on July 11, 1867. As far as I know, they were born in Sweden and lived there at least until 1872.
My great grandmother, Karen Olea Ambrosdatter, born March 22, 1844 in Solum, Telemark, Norway, possibly got a job with Peter and family. Anyway, they were married Sept. 8, 1870. I have their wedding picture. On the back is the name of the photographer and Boras, Sweden on it. Karen and Peter had their first child, Dagmar Carolina, born Sept. 28, 1871 in Sweden, before they emigrated to Norway where they lived the rest of his life. He died of pneumonia in 1879, when my grandmother was just 10 months old.
