My father Gustaf Hildebrand Holmblad was born in Svanskog 12 March 1887. He was born to Gustafva Jonsdotter of Svanskog four years before her marriage 26 September 1891 to Alfred Nilsson Hook, by whom she had six more children. Gustafva was born 17 June 1862 in Amal and died 13 January 1952 in Svanskog.
I am seeking for my father's father, about whom I have no information except that, according to my father's US Social Security application, his given name was Frans. (I have assumed that the last name was Holmblad, but I don't know that.) Did he leave any other descendants?
My father Gustaf Hildebrand emigrated to America in 1903 at the age of 16 (Flyttningsbetyg Svanskog 21 September 1903.) I do not know with whom he left nor on what ship. He died on 25 January 1965 in Park Ridge, Illinois.
