Keith, The old Lutheran church was allied with the state and was obliged to keep records that were also censuses. It was mandatory to be a member of the Lutheran church. Until 1851 Fryksände church also served Lekvattnet and only there the above mentioned events were officially recorded. With an increasing population it became natural to divide the area. Independent churches were established but they were not obliged to keep official records.
