Hi Pat, You did right with the message. Greta Nilsdotter: You probably saw her in Husförhör AI:14 1831 - 35, page 110, Södra Höjden, with Torp. Erik Andersson, as piga Greta Nilsdr. /född = born/ 1804 29/4 Kroppa. She is there with two oäkta children, Carl Carlsson /f:/ 1830 4/8 Kroppa and Anna Andersdotter /f:/ 1835 16/7 Kroppa.
In the inflyttning column, beside Greta?s name you find p. 118 - 34, meaning she moved in here in 1834, her former place will be found at page 118 in the same volume. Next column is utflyttning, beside Greta?s name you find p. 262 - 35, she moved in 1835 to page 262.
On page 262 we find the heading Försvarslöse personer (unemployed persons). This means she is homeless, or has no fixed living. Pigan Greta Nilsdotter is under this heading with nothing under utflyttning, so she will be transported into the new husförhör volume in 1835/36.
Husförhör AI:15, 1836 - 40, I look at the last pages of the volume for Försvarslöse personer, and sure enough, on page 233 is pigan Greta Nilsdr with her two children. The sad thing is, here we discover that Greta dies: död på Latzar ... 37. The death book in C:5 has on page 399: 1837, Jan 14. 22 Philipstads Latzar. försvarslösa pigan Greta Nilsdr. - Lungsot, 32 år. So, she died 32 years old from lung disease, in Filipstad hospital (lasarett). There was a hospital in Filipstad since 1773. What happened to the children?
Utflyttning on page 233 in AI:15 says: Anna Andersdr. - to page 70, 1837. Page 70: fosterbarnet Anna Andersdr 1835 16/7, död 1/7 37. She died shortly before she would have become 2 years old. The place is Krakbo (I think it says), near Storfors works, under Hjelpsmed Anders Blom, a help - smith. Carl Carlsson - to p. 57 - 37. Page 57: Storfors bruk (S iron works), with Mästsven /smith/ Erik Ferm: Fosterbarnet oäkta Carl Carlsson, 1830 4/5. So he came there about 6 ? years old as a fosterchild. No utflyttning, so to continue go to the next volume Husförhör AI:16, look up Storfors in the index at the beginning to get the page number, look for mästersven Erik Ferm, then you should find Carl Carlsson in his household. Look out for the inflyttning / utflyttning notes. When Carl (or someone) leaves the parish the utflyttning column will give to what parish he/she moves. When you go to a new parish, try to find your person in the Inflyttningslängd (B in the archives series) first if possible, you can hope to find the page number or at least the name of the village he/she moves to there.
