I have looked in HFL AI:14 1891-1895 for Tjärnö parish and on page 146 he is still listed as living, but not as a seaman, he is a small farmer now. This Alfred Johansson was born 17/12 1848, hope that is the same person? I don't have any records available after this one so I have not checked what happens to the family after 1895. Hopefully someone who's more familiar with the parish can fill you in.
