I thank you so much. I really appreciate the help. The reason the family in NZ had no contact was because my grandfather and his brothers and sisters were told Jan jumped ship in NZ when he was 11 and he had no parents.
I have managed to prove, it was totally incorrect. Jan Eric in New Zealand became John Mattsen, naturalised himself twice in and died in 1934 in a place called Dannevirke where he is buried.
He and his wife Caroline (nee Morgan), had 6 children. The children got put in an orphanage in 1916 in Nelson. Jan went to prison for 3 months hard labour for trying to blow up Caroline and her lover.
The last time my Grandfather saw his mother was in 1921 when she went to try and get the children back. I cant trace where she died or anything.
My Grandfather is buried in a place called Riwaka which is in the South Island of New Zealand. All his brothers and sisters are now dead but there are 30-40 relatives in New Zealand who would love to have contact with anyone from Sweden.
