His birthdate is on his tombstone. I also have info from his wife's family who were very prominent in the Beechwoods area. As for his marriage at 19, I'm fairly certain it is correct as his first child was born in 1887. They may have had one child out of wedlock but not 2! Not in that day and age! Yes, America was very different in marriage ages. My maternal grandmother ran away at 15 and was married because she was promised to another and didn't want to marry him. So the family gave the jilted man her sister at age 13!!!!
